They probably aren't related. A small percentage of people are allergic to glycerin, and some people have reactions to certain artificial sweeteners. Though, if you're allergic to glycerin, VG might not be your main problem. Glycerin / glycerol is in a LOT of stuff, you might want to take him to the doctor and see if he's allergic to it.

This is the same thing I wonder when people say they are allergic to PG. How do they brush their teeth, use deodorant, use soap or shampoo, eat ice cream? (I would not want to stand next to them on a hot day:?:)

(Retired Nurse. I understand the difference between "allergic" and "reaction":D)

He's not allergic to anything else with VG in it. He's not allergic to VG at all.
He has a bad reaction to warming and INHALING it. (And I don't think it was ever studied for inhalation like PG has been)

I can't abide the non existent TH of VG.

So in answer to the poll, I choose PG.

Ok, I got my order of juices from cignot today and I've experienced first hand, the 100% VG experience. Not a whole lotta flavor or TH but the TH can be somewhat compensated by inhaling the huge amount of vapor. Don't get me wrong, I like em. But I get that wierd filmy felling too. Next order will either be mixed straight from the vendor (as long as they'll let me request my own ratio ei..Tasty Vapors) I may also get some of the EcoPure Rich from Cignot or some of their Basic line also since i hear it is really good. Anyway, I can't stand no vapor production so if I had to answer my own poll question, it would still be VG but I'd find something to cut it with. This round, I went to a local smoke shop and got some "Tasty Puff" tobacco flavoring and added one drop to each cart before filling with my VG. It reduces the Nicotine level a little but It helped on the flavor just enough (two drops was too much) and the filmy feeling that I was getting. It was vanilla so it goes pretty well with the three flavors 555,USA Mix (tobacco) and coffee) I got from Cignot (Who, btw, made another happy and repeat customer outta me...great job ladies) Also, I'm trying these new juices out on a new eGo kit with stock atties. My LR atties should be here in the next day or two as should my order from Tasty Vapor for Cafe Mocha 80PG/20VG 36Mg. I cant wait on that stuff. Just my :2c: if it helps anyone. -trey

Try to find a vendor who offers sample sizes. Get a small bottle of 100% each of the same flavor, try them out, then you can also mix them to find out if you like a pg/vg mix.

You might want to decide which you want. PG for more TH or VG for more vapor. (Barring any bad reactions to either)

Whichever, remember to drink. Then drink some more (water) Both can dehydrate your mouth and throat. Water is immensely helpful and also helps rinse the toxins from smoking cigarettes out of your system faster.

Thanks a lot! Everyone on here is so helpful! I went with Ms. T's. I can't wait to try my new device tomorrow! :D

My wife seems to have adverse reactions to both PG and VG; hence she can't vape at all. which sucks, because vaping was originally to get her off her 1-2 pack-a-day habit, but it's good for me since I get it all!

There is a 3rd little known option called PEG (polyethylene glycol) which few places supply. The only vendor I know of that has it is Totally Wicked, which carries 54mg Unflavored PEG-400 as an option in their Platinum Ice line. Unfortunately you'll have to flavor it yourself, and most flavorings are usually based in PG or occasionally VG. You can also try making your own flavorings to some extent, such as by soaking Vanilla beans in alcohol.

EDIT: Here's a company with VG/PG-free flavors - http://www.essentialwholesale.com/category_s/251.htm

I used to only vape PG...

then switched to 100% VG and burned out 3 atomizers in no time...it's much too thick, so I'd recommend cutting it with at least 20% PG...

now I do a 70% VG 30% PG mix which it the best of all worlds...superior vapor to pure PG, and a little sweet after taste which I like...

but to get a decent throat hit, I have to go 24MG...

the only down side is I notice a bit of a dry throat if I chain vape with 70%VG mix...

other than that...i'm digging the VG...as Borat says, "It's a'nice!!!"

For the moment, until I do more testing, I voted for vg as my favorite juice. Reasons:
(1) pg juices seem to give me gum irritations and sometimes mild nausea. (2) pg juices produce less vapor
(3) I don't care about throat hit and my best throat hit juice is a 100% vg juice anyway.
(4) I personally have seen no no downside vg vs. pg re: atty fouling etc.

I got some Eco Pure Menthol with my starter kit and didn't particularly like it. I think VG has a strange "mouthfeel" - you can definitely feel the density of the vapor. Sometimes when I'm vaping anything with even 20% VG, and I talk immediately after inhaling, my voice sounds funny. That weirds me out. I agree that PG does not produce sufficient vapor for my taste, so I am mixing 100% PG with 0 nicotine 80/20% PG/VG to get (I think) 5% VG (3:1). It's pretty good...

Yes, actually now that you mention it. I never connected the two.
Anything with aspartame gives him a migraine that puts him in bed.

Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm. How could that possibly be related?

he might not have the enzyme that is needed to break down the aspartame...a buildup of this can cause brain damage also...def worth getting checked...all babies born within the last 10 or so years are ckecked for this defect...def worth checking out
