Hey Guys,

I bought some beans for the purposes of doing an extraction with PG...

Thing is, im not sure how much of each to use... I was only going to do one bean to start, but im not sure how much PG to use for optimal extraction/flavour concentration. I am going to prep it like I was baking with it, by slicing open the bean and scraping out the seeds, and then finely chopping the pod.

Anyone have experience/knowledge of how to do a PG vanilla extraction? (Beyond the basic "add vanilla beans to PG" ;) )

So:
How much PG for one bean?
How long to extract?

Thanks for the links!

My plan is to prepare the vanilla as I initially mentioned, and use as little PG as I can get away with... I will then taste and adjust accordingly. I just wonder how long it would be necessary to leave it for optimum extraction using PG?

I just got a couple vanillas from TPA (Bavarian Cream, and French Vanilla) to try, but I want a whole bean extract as well. I love a good vanilla!
