I vape 100% VG and love it! So far no significant problems with my eGo.I use Boge LR cartos. Early on in my attempt at vaping, I (boyfriend as well) coughed and coughed so bad with prefilled cartos and got headaches. Someone suggested trying VG, and we have never looked back!

I am a bit nervous to try PG again, but just may to be sure that it doesn't like me, and it wasn't something else.

I started vaping 50-50, but I love watching the plumes of vape, so I have been doing 20-80 on my little eGo. I built myself a fully mechanical Stainles Steel tube mod with a 3.7v 14500 bat. Seems to work fine, but when the charge wears down it vapes like crap. I gotta build a bigger one with two bigger batteries to run my new atty. (Scuba Gen v3 not fully built up yet)
I'm wondering if I thin down my ratio for the scuba that the TH will knock me on my ..... At the same time I am wondering if the 80% VG will slow down the wicking abilities of the SS mesh.

Interesting thread. I'm curious about which one dries the back of your throat. I have lots of sample bottles from several different vendors and have found that some really make my throat dry while others don't. To be honest, when I ordered them I didn't really pay attention to their ratios. If I could figure out which is the culprit, I can thin them down with the other and pay more attention when I order n the future.

I normally vape at a PG:VG of 70/30, but have had some juice that was a lower ratio. With anything much below 70/30 I notice a drop-off in flavor. When it hits 50/50 I have trouble with taste perception. The 'massive clouds of vapor' goal doesn't do much for me, really; so, I'm happy with even straight PG, if it comes my way. I don't think that I'd taste anything at all if I went with 100% VG.

Must be damage to the ole taste buds after so many yeard of heavy ciggie & cigar smoking.

I typically run a mix in the 70/30 to 80/20 PG/VG range depending on which supplier I'm hitting up for juice. I'm a carto/carto-tank person so the slightly thinner blends do really well for me. Satisfied with the vapor production and the throat hit is just spot on in that range, unless I'm vapin a heavy mint or cinnamon flavor then I'll stick with the 70/30 or 50/50 blend.

I DIY all my juices 100% vg .....
cuz pg kills my throat & I immediately gets hives if pg levels are above 40% or so.

But with that said I feel I need to explain that there really is NOT any 100% vg juices out there .
I make mine w/vg nic base & vg (to get nic to goal mg)... but I also use flavoring @ 10-20% & distilled water or vodka @ 5-10% ...so therefore it is NOT REALLY 100% VG .

Now the commercially available 100%VG juices have to follow along the same lines.
I have not seen any flavoring in a vg base, most are pg & there are some using other stuff...Ie: Triacetin, Ethyl Alcohol.

But one thing about the comm. VG Juices is that they have been thinned for use in e-cigs . So you should not have to worry about comm.VG Juice being TOO thick to use.
My last order of VG NIC Base had even been pre-thinned .

I have never had any thickness issues & I use several types of different tanks, carto's & ce2's.

Good Luck ! & Welcome to ECF !!:vapor:

Love my 100% VG Ave Juice. Condom fill and taryn spin to fill. and cartos work just fine. If Nic is high enough you will get desire TH. That is not to say I do not mind mixes, just do not fret too much over 100% VG killing cartos too much. Do yourself a favor and get some bridgeless atties for dripping that works wonders with 100% VG also!
