Pg/Vg ratio

I have been looking at ordering more juice online and I have a few questions. Does the pg/vg ratio affect taste? What would be a good mix. Currently I have from a local shop a reduced mixture but I don't know the exact amount. It only says reduced pg on the bottle. Also should I let all flavors steep after receiving them? Thanks for the help.

With a higher PG juice, more flavor for a given amout of flavoring in the juice.

Just the opposite for VG but more vapor and I like a 50/50 mixture.

As far as steeping goes it can't hurt to let them sit around for a couple of weeks or so but I don't do it.

PG = More flavor and more Throat Hit (TH), VG = Less flavor and less TH. I personally have allergies, 30/70 PG/VG is about all the PG I can stand, but 100% VG mutes the taste so much. Try a few small bottles form various vendors to find out which mix you prefer, as all tastes are subjuctive.

Hi jimmyh...Vendors who are well known for their 100% vg juice generally develop their recipe accordingly so there is no "reduced" flavour. I would be leery of a bottle of juice that says"reduced pg" on it though. It should state clearly what the ratio is. Many of the 100% vg juices do benefit from steeping. Once you've made your choice you'll probably be able to find out on ECF whether they are juices that should be steeped. I began with 80/20 pg/vg and now only use 100% vg. Everybody is different.

I havent found the flavor of my juices to diminish at all with a higher VG content but maybe thats because I use Alien Visions.

In general more pg equals more throat hit...more vg equals more vapor.

I have found it best to ask the vendor directly what the steep time should be (if any). My current vendor makes a note for each flavor / ratio I buy on my invoice or via email. It is very helpful and most vendors who give a damn about their customers will be happy to advise.

I used to vape 50/50 or higher vg until I tried 70/30 pg/vg. The ratio has a very significant effect on taste I am never going to order high vg content juices anymore because the taste with a high pg content is just so amazing. The only vg juice that I still want to try is Boba's Bounty just so I can see what all the fuss is about.
