Hello, I am just starting to get into using tanks. I have tried the IClear 30 and the Protank. I am getting ready to place a order for some new juice from Ahlusions (never tried but heard good things). The site is asking me to choose my PG/VG mixture, I have never really done much research as to which works better in tanks or does it matter? Is it better to go 50/50, or higher lvl of one or the other. I would be grateful if someone more experienced could give me a crash course. Thanks a bunch

Welcome!

Higher VG = more vapor
Higher PG = a bit more flavor

If this is your first order with Ahlusion, go with the 50/50 mix and see how it goes and adjust for taste / vapor / etc if needed on the next round. I like higher VG (70vg/30pg) in my juices because higher PG doesn't seem to agree with me, but that's my preference. Higher VG can gum up coils in tanks, but sweeter juices will gum up coils quicker than what the VG/PG mix is.

You can't go wrong with Ahlusion. I've tried many juices from them and have enjoyed them all. Their Cherry Cola is my ADV, and their Sarsaparilla is a close second. Just got in Fijian Nights, and it's so tasty and becoming an ADV rather quickly.

PS (Edit): I use the 70vg/30pg mix in cartomizers and Protanks.

Tanks can be difficult and it probably does matter the climate that you're in. I'm in the Phoenix, AZ area and if I leave a tank in my car with 50/50 in it you can bet it will have leaked onto my battery by the time I get back to it. If it is too think then it really doesn't wick as well as it should. The nice thing about too thick though is that you can dilute it pretty easily. Just put in a small, and I mean small, amount of distilled water. In small amounts it shouldn't dilute the flavor and it will thin it out a little bit. I think a nice safe bet for a tank is probably around the 70vg/30pg mark. You're kind of covered either way then.

Good luck with that.

If you have both Pro Tanks and iClear 30s, you're covered either way. In general, higher VG blends seem to wick better with a short-wick bottom coil clearo whereas the higher PG ejuices IMHO, do best in a top coil clearomizer. Anything down to 60/40 vapes beautifully in my iClear 30s, but at around 50/50 or higher VG, the Pro Tank is less fussy wicking it.
