I started out vaping a little over a week ago with all PG and then bought some samples of all VG juices from (I forgot where) but I must say that they seem to vape better than PG....although not all of the flavors were agreeable.
I got huge throat-hit and vapor. Maybe a little less taste. The juice was thicker making it more difficult to fill a cart (blue foam) but it was worth it. More fun. Better direct dripping satisfaction.
The problem is that the seller is the only place I found with ready-mixed VG and they only sell it in 26mg nicotine and 10ml is the largest bottle.
I'm getting ready to lower my dose. I don't mind the idea of mixing PG and VG but what other supplier has VG in ready-mixed flavors with lower nicotine?
What is the downside, other than what I've already mentioned, to using VG alone? Health issues? Atty issues?

Cignot your Midwest Electronic Cigarette store.
and similar pages has the VG in various strengths and flavors. I tried it but could not tell much difference and the higher price didn't seem justified as they sell better tasting stuff in cheaper PG form not sure this is tru across the board but i think pg is cheaper in general.

i have read some posts that PG has been more extensively tested --its in food but its also in foggers and various industrial settings where osha/epa etc have to check toxicity when inhaled and it hasn't been shown to be very toxic

of course heating it up regularly may or may not be resulting in the smae chemicals they tested--you will find chemists around--check out the health questions section.

the VG by contrast doesn't generally get inhaled so it hasn't been tested as an inhalant--only as a food.

ditto for all the flavorings. most are safe in food or so thought but not been checked for inhalation.

can't say if VG per se causes atty problems but gunked out atomizers can be caused by juice--i got some bad clove juice once and it wrecked a couple atomizers.

good luck. the answers are likely somewhere on this massive forum--try the search link in the upper right nav bar.

I've been buying juice exclusively from Tastyvapor.us for the past month now and have played around with different percentages of VG mixed in. I find that I prefer a higher amount of VG mixed in (they max out at 35%) because it produces heavier vapor. Some people say that VG kind of 'dulls' the flavorings, but I honestly haven't been able to tell. Only difference is the vapor production.

I 2nd checking out tastyvpor.us. They really do have amazing flavors and all their juice is sold by the 30ml. they also offer "doublers" which can help you ween off the nic at your own pace by mixing your own juices with it.
To me the biggest difference is PG will give me a better TH as where the VG lacks in TH, it produces more vapor. I usually buy PG and mix my own unflavored VG in. about 80% PG/20% VG. To me thats the best of both worlds. Also yes, Ive heard that VG will gunk up your attys a little quicker than PG but with regular cleaning it shouldn't affect the over-all life of your atty.

re the safety question--its a hot topic over in the health concerns threads. I Haven't read em all--even one thread can go on for pages and days but the gist of what i take away is that yes PG has been studied as an inhalant in various tests of monkeys etc. and is used for all sorts of products and they haven't found dangerous levels (i think its all usually based on unheated PG though)

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ol-glycerine-see-if-you-havent-already-9.html Thread starts out with a bitof hyperbole to get the debate going but if you can wade through it there are some good citations of scientific studies.

heated VG has however been shown to produce toxic byproducts but most posters seem to believe that the temperatures in an atty are too low to create those byproducts. (except possibly the conversion to sugar for diabetics)

its appears VG not as widely used industrially or medically, though so its much less studied.

anyway getting off analogs is usually our (the folks on this forum) immediate and primary concern. for that short term use of vg or pg inhalants should be fine.

there are plenty of other variables as far as vapor throat hit and flavor go so you might find that its more a question of battery voltage, atomizer, or cartridge style that really shapes your long term preference. since you just got started i'd say try them all until you have shaken the bigmonkey off your back

then you can go through and pick off the nits and bits.

my gut feeling is that quitting vaping will be easier than quitting smoking analogs but I'm just a 2-3 month newbie myself
