I've only been at this a little while, but I've been trying different things to try to make my vaping experience better. So I got some PG400 at xxxhigh strength of a website and refilled a few cartomizers with it.....and it KILLED them. One entirely stopped working, it wasn't flooded, it just died. The other cartomizer still had a little of my old juice in it and continued to work but about 10% of the previous amount of vapour came out.

The PG400 works well with my existing juice at about 20% PG400 80% Old juice, it doesn't kill cartomizers and it gives it a bit more kick but definitely reduces the amount of visible vapour.

What is going on with PG400? Is this normal? Can it be used on it's own or does it need to have VG mixed in?

Thanks,
Joe

I had never heard of PG400 as an eliquid component so I had to google. Looks like it's PEG400, or polyethylene glycol (the version with the molecular mass of ~ 400 g/mol.

It looks like the melting point of PEG400 is 4-8 degrees Celsius (38 Fahrenheit) . That's probably why yours is solid in the fridge. If you leave it out at room temp, or put the bottle into a warm glass of water it will probably turn to a liquid again.

I don't know anything about how it acts in a e-cig liquid though.

Just so we can get clear on this, PG (Propylene Glycol ) or PEG 400 (a type of PolyEthylene Glycol)? Two different things from my understanding.

My belief is PEG 400 is mostly only used in pre-filled cartomizes, and only by few vendors.

This may be important in the answers you may recieve.

*NOTE: My understanding might be flawed
