Thanks for posting this. I've become a bit addicted to correction: cultivated a beneficial habit of :p reading Carl Phillips and Mike Siegel's blog posts.

It's a fantastic article.

This means that, as a lifestyle choice, using THR products is not a medical intervention – something that may be unpleasant and harmful, but is needed to fix a problem – in response to the “disease” of smoking. Thus, the conventional regulatory approaches (e.g. clinical trials, prescribed and proscribed consumer behaviors) are inappropriate for THR. Furthermore, because THR is similar to common consumer choices in modern Western society, it is fully within the rights and abilities of individuals to choose for themselves.

This is the absolute heart of the argument. If we could get the MEPs and MHRA people to comprehend this point, everything else would fall into place. (Sorry, friends across the pond - I know what a legislative ****storm you're facing over there as well, but things Europe-side are a bit busy right now!)
