moorea - it's good you took a veggie-break .... it's nice to just sit and read a book, watch a movie, or just sit for a while.

I can't read. I mean obviously I can read and I would love to be able to do it more often, but I have a real problem with it. Once I get started with a good book, I am unable to get anything else accomplished. Work doesn't get done, house doesn't get cleaned and The kids and hubby start feeling neglected and complaining about it. I'm just not able to put a good book down. Worst part is I am a pretty slow reader, so everything gets neglected for a long while! And it is een worse because most of the books I like to read are series of many books and you can't read just one.

So if I ever disappear from the forum for an extended time, you will know what I am doing!

Redd have you read the Dark Tower books by king? It is nothing like his regular writing but by far his best work to date! He spent decades writing it and characters pop up all over the place from his other books.

Kispers, I've seen everything star trek... multiple times but never read any. Anne Rice however is amazing one of my favorites authors. Did you just do the Vampire books or did you read the Witch books as well. If you are feeling frisky you can also read some of the books penned under Anne Rampling, but they require a cold shower when done!

Now you guys have me wanting to read. I have the Game of Thrones unread on the book shelf... but I have to much going on to succumb to its calling!

I got used to it, mine is the older model where I can use a mem card to store on so I have lots of books saved. I still like the feel of a good book but I like the convenience of the kindle more. Especially when traveling it takes up less room, lol.

Borders Books recently closed and I don't think there is another book store within a few hundred miles, so regardless of me liking it or not, my Kindle days are coming soon. Amazon takes about 1/2 my pay already, so I guess they might as well take a little more for the convenience of downloading rather then waiting for them to ship a book.

Not only do I like the feel of reading a real book, I also liked going to the book store and shopping for books.

I have been an avid reader since I was a child... I read every night before I go to sleep. I thought I would HATE the kindle... I wouldn't even try it. I like books. I like the way they feel, and the way the smell. Well, I love my Nook. LOVE it. I don't know how I could live without it now. I actually read a real book after reading the ipad ibook (which I replaced with the Nook because the ipad is too big for comfortable reading) for several months and I was disappointed because there wasn't an automatic dictionary for every word I didn't know and there wasn't something telling me how many pages left in the chapter etc. It didn't take long for me to get spoiled.

I know, I am a slacker. It seems like the only thing in my life that is still old school are books. I have a degree in computer programming and the hubby has one in hardware and networking... believe me our worlds revolve around the latest and greatest electronics. But you hit the nose on the head, even the smell of books is comforting. I'll truly miss going to the book store and picking up and flipping through the pages of several until you pick out one. Even peaking ahead to see how many pages left in the chapter seems more ritual then chore.

So how do you like the nook?

I used to go into a bookstore if I was having a bad day and by the time I left I would be smiling.

Don't get me wrong, I still love a good bookstore! But, it is really convenient to have everything in one place... and a lot less dusty than my bookshelf!

I researched all of the tablets before deciding on the Nook SimpleTouch. I chose it over the Kindle because the Nook has a slot for a micro sd card and the Kindle does not. I think that is a huge oversight on Kindle's part. You are stuck with half of the 2 gigs (or maybe 4?) because the other half is dedicated to stuff bought from Amazon. Half of the Nook space is dedicated to Barnes and Noble stuff but with the micro sd card, there's way more than enough room to put whatever you want on it. The Nook also has several more fonts if you care about that. I'm really liking it so far. It has the digital ink or whatever it's called... it looks really cool and it's easy on the eyes. I bought a little clip on light to go with it so I can read in the dark. It's light and comfortable too... still not as light as a nice, worn paperback but I'm getting used to it. It's only been about a week that I've been using it. I was using the ipad before and it's just too heavy to be comfortable (though I do like ibook's interface a bit better than the Nook).

My phone has a kindle app. And for that and that alone this phone has been worth it. Amazon seemed to have more free books to me. I think my husband is starting to get jealous if my phone. I am either on efc or kindle. I keep telling him he wouldn't be talking to me anyway cause he is watching tv. I am multi-tasking.......

I stop by the phiniac site frequently to drool, and I'm not having as easy of a time navigating to where I can see all the tanks that are available. It could definitely be user error, but I thought I might mention it to you anyway. Looking at phiniac tanks makes me smile too.

We recently changed the site to accommodate the fact that we have more sizes and tank types then we started with as well as to anticipate adding the hand blown tanks in 4 different sizes as well as the tinted tanks. I am sorry if this has made it more confusing then when we had one product in one size, it was not my intention. I will try to think of a better way to make it easy for people to find what they are looking for.

For now here are some "Phiniac Shopping Tips" maybe they will help. When you get to the site click on Phiniac Tanks, then simply choose the sub category you are looking for (ie; Hand Blown, Textured or Plain Clear, we of course will be adding Sand Blasted and Tinted to this list soon) Once on the tank type choose your size (Regular, Tall Boy, XL or Shorty) and finally you will see a list of tanks. If you want to sort by what is available there is a tool bar on the top of every page that has the product listings:

nav.jpg

If you click on available once the sold tanks come up first, click on it again and the available tanks will come up first! You can also sort by price (both high and low) or by the date was added to the site (newest and oldest)

Finally whenever I add new tanks to the site, I move the sold tanks to the Sold Tanks Category.
