Both our boys went to the vet pretty early .... we don't do breed ring, so the sooner the better. LOL

Every dog we've ever had has been fixed as a puppy with the exception of Porthos. He comes from the very best line of beagles there is and we had intended on breeding him. But when he started escaping to chase coyotes and lifting his leg we decided not to breed him as the trip to the vet stopped both bad habits!

Anyone who at one point was too busy (having fun) to read should move to WI. However, I admit that I do now love to read.

Although...........climb a mountain or read? I would still climb a mountain even though I would probably kill myself at this point.[/QUOTE
Lol :):):):):):) Got a kick out of state nicknames...

moorea - did you ever show him? I showed our GSDs in breed and Schitzhund when I was in europe, but the shelties have strictly been performance events.

We planned to show and breed him, but shortly after Porthos arrived, we ended up taking in a close family friend who was going through a very rough time and trying to help him for about a year At that point, we did not have the time for the travel involved or proper training for show. We still could have bred him, but as you know life sometimes gets in the way and when he was 2 we decided we were perfectly happy having him as just a family pet and took the trip to the vet!

Mooera, I checked out the site. You've got a button right in the middle where I'd have to be Mister Magoo to miss to show all tanks! Thank you

No problem! It was a needed addition to the site and you weren't the only one missing that function, the hubby has been complaining about it since I changed the site! But I wasn't going to do the extra work for him :p so now everyone is happy!

And so did you get to play after the kids got finished being packed off to the sky trip, or is it waiting until the weekend?

Sand blasting is fun.

That's funny. I'll often climb a mountain to read. Nothing like sitting int the midst of nature, on top of the world, and relaxing with a good book...

When I lived in CO, we used to always take a 6-pack with us to drink on top of the mountain; beer (and other things) are very potent in the rarified air of the rockies!!!:thumb:

I know. After I wrote that I thought to myself "I would probably take a book now". Depending on if I was really climbing or mostly hiking.

What part of CO? I went to college in Fort Collins. Friends and family would come to visit and I always warned them to take it easy, very few believed me before it was to late.

I don't do the kind of climbing that requires more equipment than decent shoes and a sturdy stick, so I'd take a book with me just in case. That's what I like about the Nook--I can take an entire library and have my choice. And now that I have a Nook Color I can play games or watch a movie if the reading gets too "heavy" ;)

Still like to curl up with an analogue at home, though--and now I don't have to worry about yellowing the pages while I read it :thumb:
