EDIT: By all means, read the rant below and become angry over it but beforehand you probably should read the first reply to this post!

I want to start off by saying that the Phiniac tank is by far the most durable, well-made tank I have ever used. I mean that in every possible way. It is nearly perfect in every respect.

By saying that, I am in no way talking about how well it performs because... it doesn't really perform that well at all for me.

Over the past few days with four different cartos with four different sizes of holes, I; for the life of me, cannot get this thing to feed consistently. I have tried dremel slots, then massively oversized dremel slots, then punching with a saddle punch. Which I hate doing, by the way, mostly because it warps the metal and can cause a bad seal if the warp goes down too far.

Either way, this thing will not feed consistently... at all.

Here's why I think this is. Standard cartomizer tanks use plastic and we all know some juices hate it but plastic does have an upside. It can give a little. It can bend. When too much pressure builds up in a plastic tank, I believe that the plastic's rather bendible property allows the pressure to be relieved by bending back a bit due to tension, slowly allowing the juice to feed easier.

In a glass tank or a stainless tank that may not have that much airflow, I have concluded that since the tanks have no give whatsoever, the pressure can build and build and build and you may never see a bubble no matter how large your cuts are for quite a long time.

I know there are people using this tank with success, otherwise it wouldn't be getting so many recommendations. I just want to know why and how these people are having such good luck because I can't get it to work no matter what I do and I've lost quite a bit of juice along the way just refitting the tank and moving it around so damn much. This was also 90/10 PG/VG from MyFreedomSmokes so there is really no reason whatsoever that it shouldn't feed.

I just can't recommend it, it has been nothing but a well-made, tough product that just doesn't work and has been a waste of my money to find a good tank. Not just for the tank but also for the 5 cartomizers I burnt up messing with it.

----------

Now lets go on to Phiniac.

"Order placed after 4:00pm (EST) will ship the following business day.

Orders placed on weekends, holidays or Fridays after 4:00pm will ship the following business day."

I want you to notice that the website doesn't specifically state Saturday as a "business day", but from my previous experience with other sites, it normally is. I ordered 7:00pm EST on Friday and expected the tank out by Saturday but it still didn't ship until Monday. This wasn't really that big of a deal, it just lets me in on how their shipping works. They may or may not ship on Saturdays. I don't know because they don't state Saturday as a business day.

Also, o-ring replacements. There are none in stock on their website. This makes me wonder if all of the o-rings they buy are paired up with the tanks they sell beforehand and they only keep enough for the tanks themselves. This doesn't really make any sense to me, really. It seems if I want more o-rings, I either have to go to a hardware store and dig around for an hour or even more asinine, buy another tank and get the o-rings out of it. :?:

So that's my last order from Phiniac. It looks like I'll have to go for another $30-$40 finding a decent tank that works well.

I suppose you can marvel at how well it's made and throw it against garage doors to see how durable it is.

An update on this:

I talked to the owner of Phiniac, although his name is now brainfarting all over my mind.

At any rate. We consider this tank to be somewhat of a fluke, a jabberwocky, the "one that just won't feed properly". He is sending me out a replacement tank and through the glory of his everloving heart, he is letting me keep the old tank without having to return it.

Isn't that lovely?

So even if I somehow eventually one day, maybe am able to get the old tank to work by some miracle of science, I still get a fully working Phiniac tank because of their great customer service.

HUZZAH!

(and the tank isn't for sale... because it doesn't really work)
