So here's my situation. I quit smoking analogs about 2 months ago after switching to vaping (stayed true since day 1) and still seem to be coughing quite frequently. It's not as bad on some days compared to others, but I always seem to have mucus in the back of my throat and can never seem to get rid of it. I don't know what to do and have not found any useful information. The mucus causes raspy breathing and a constant cough as an attempt to clear it out, but it comes right back. 2 months without tobacco of any kind. If anyone has any suggestions or reasons of my condition, I'd love to hear them.

Interested also.......kind of the same deal. Its worse when im trying to go to sleep. Its almost like there is a continual drainage down my throat. Im thinking ive just got a cold or bad allergies but a part of me panics when im weezing thinking its the vape hurting me. I wonder if there is some creedance to the fact that we are just going to take awile to hack up all our analog residual goo and damage? Dunno

First, drink a lot of water all day, cause vaping causes dehydration...next try using a different flavor than what U R currently using...maybe a smooth 555 caramel flavor may work or anything different....lastly, U may need to change your PG/VG ratio flavor blend...many use a 80/20 or 65/35 but U may need a lesser PG so maybe a 50/50 will help....there are many variables that can cause this, so process of elimination 1 at a time..

BTW, after 2 months on no tobacco I would think U have cleaned and hacked up all the tobacco residue by now....and yes a "cold" could be the culprit, but if I hada cold for 2 months then something isn't right and I'd be at my docs a long time ago..

I currently use 50/50 at 8mg nic strength (began with 24mg). Every vape store I've gone to makes their eLiquid with a 50/50 mix so I'm kinda stuck there. I too am worried about the vape causing the problem. Maybe it is a weak immune system, I really don't know. Unfortunately I'm not covered insurance wise and probably won't be for a while due to financial purposes :( I appreciate the responses, helps me feel a bit more secure and realize that I need to take action of some kind.

I think it is VG that causes phloem. PG will dry you out. Or at least that is what is does to me. I don't do PG anymore except what is in the flavoring and nic. I do 70VG 30 DS ( distilled water ). I am a little phloemy. But not as bad as I was when I first went mostly VG. I would try to up your PG, maybe 65/35 or 80/20 and see if that works. Also if you will order your juice online you can basically get it mixed to your preference. Probably cheaper than you local B&M..try these folks. Great prices and awesome customer service. Good luck and VAPE ON. Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor

Everyone has been pretty helpful. I currently switched to Butter Rum flavored juice which is clear in color and the quality of it is pretty good too compared to other places I've gone to. The Vape Store is where I get my stuff in Cape. As far as I know, everyone around here have their juice pre-mixed, they just add the nicotine. I'm probably going to make my next purchase online and go down on the PG concentration.

For me this symptom went away after a few weeks.... I used to cough up a ton of stuff when I smoked. Perhaps there is a free clinic where you live and could be seen by a doctor was no or very little cost. This way you won't be so worried. Lots of places online let you choose the ratio and some offer nic levels at 3mg (Heather's Heavenly Vapes) comes to mind.

Have you tried some menthol? I smoked menthol and always said I was more addicted to that than I was the cig as when I was out, I could not bum a non-mentholated cig, couldn't stand the taste. Fast forward to today, the menthol really seems to get down in there. I also had an inhaler that didn't seem to be giving me any relief for my shortness of breath. I've only been vaping 2 weeks, all of it menthol and I haven't felt the need to use the inhaler. Not very scientific, I know but I can only tell you how I feel and what's working for me. Hope you get better soon.

The color of the mucus is almost always clear and thin. When I wake up in the mornings, I usually tend to cough a few times and a big nasty wad of phloem comes out. Throughout the work day I don't cough 'often' but when I get home and lay down to rest is usually when the more frequent coughing begins. Can anyone relate to this?

Only when I was still smoking and for a while after I quit.
