Okay so I have been vaping for about a year and have moved through a wide array of products. I currently favor a Vmax SS battery (I also have a lava tube but feel I don't get the hit from it like the Vmax gives). I previously used the COV MAPE2 tank mod (after trying many other tank mods) i found it to be my favorite. I have since moved to a drip method as I feel it gives me the best flavor. I currently use a Vmax SS with a dual coil Joye 3.0 ohm atty (tried the HR attys from COV and can't get any significant vape off them no matter what my settings).
So after some consideration i decided to try a rebuildable atty, so i bought a cheaper model the Phoenix. My experience is not going so well:
First took it out of the box wet the coil with about 5 drops burned it then filled it with about 20 drops. THe result awesome vape BAD taste.
Second tried vaping for a while maybe five minutes to see if flavor improved, no suck luck.
Then tried adding more liquid, no luck.
Pulled the juice out an tried to dry burn and it caught on fire every time I tried this. The coil looks good wicks look brand new no burning. Any suggestions? My next step is going to be replace the coil and see how that goes. Not looking forward to these little screws. Any suggestion on a good tutorial to change it?

Most people have problems with the pre-rolled coil/wick that comes with a new Phoenix RBA
Basically the coils tend to be wrapped too tightly on the wick
Which hinders wicking and thus starves the coil for juice (burnt taste)
Throw it away and make your own

Try This YouTube Video for starters
Wrapping a good coil & using dual coils on the Phoenix Rebuildable Atomizer - YouTube
Just ignore the part about dual coil setup until you get the hang of single coils

If you post on the "Rebuildable Atomizer Systems" forum you will get more responses

After you get 5 posts you can start a thread there

well the vmax is known the be a little off votage wise, but in any case when you check the coil what resistance is it telling you?

and you may want to build another one, test the ohms and or give it a shot on your other mod.

i try to get around 2 ohms ish and 3.7 to 4 v range. and like i said once burnt the taste never goes away even if it does start working correctly, especially with cotton or similar materials for wicks

(once you get 5 or more posts you can hit the RBA forums where there will be mad suggestions for ya)
