So I just got my Phoenix in the mail and I am trying to make my first coil. I have a good coil as far as I can see, but I am gettin no resistance.

My first thought was that is was the wire, but when I took the coil out and tested it by itself, if read about 2 ohms

Then, with the coil removed, I tested out the resistance between the two posts (which I think should be infinite if there is no coil in there) and it reads as zero resistance

So do I have a bum unit? Is there something I can do to fix this?

Ok, so I figured it out, posting for future reference.

My provari's center pole was pushing up the Phoenix's center post, which was causing a short. I removed it completely, and added some superglue to the grommet that is in there. I let that dry and pushed it back in.

One of my crew posts got pushed up as well in the process, but this worked out for me since I am using a vertical coil. Seems like it is adjustable to a point.
