Phoenix XL, thick juice and syringes question.

I'm a fan of VG juices. I got my new Phoenix XLs yesterday and so far, I'm a fan. The flavor is really clean all the way through.

My only issue so far is getting my Boba's into the syringe. It hardly pulls into the syringe if I use the needle tip. Without the tip, I can take the top off the bottle and fill by tipping it over onto the syringe and pulling that way. But I have to make sure I hold the bottle and they syringe hard together. It's a little awkward and I've wasted a bit of juice through spillage. (A sin with Boba's, especially when it's out of stock.)

Is there an easier way to do this? Should I just pour some in a small container like a shot glass and pour it back when done? That'll also make a bit of waste. Is there a different kind of bottle I could buy that would make syringe filling easier?

Some of the DIY sites sell 14 or 16ga blunt tip luer lok needles. You can pull the juice up out of the bottle and into the syringe with it. Then remove it, and use your filling needle to fill your Phoenix.

What I do with my Boba's is, use a 16ga luer lock needle to draw the juice from the bottle, then switch over to the needle that came with your kit.

Luer lock needles are readily avail at most CVS or Walgreens, although you will probably have to buy the whole syring kit, for about .25

I just take the plunger out of the syringe and then fill it, put the plunger back in push the air out then I'm good to go. Any juice I don't use I just inject it back into the bottle. Been working for me great.

I resisted this method at first, and you may lose a little juice when you first practice it, but it's turned out to be by far the easiest way for me.

I tried that myself, but found when I start putting the plunger back in, I was spilling juice all over the place. Of course I was neanderthaling it too, though...

Same thing happened to me, with a little practice that quit happening.

So I got a big pack of 14ga luer lock tips and it made things so easy! Minimal waste. No spillage. I like to fill a bunch of these up at once and it's just so fast this way.

I'm still loving the flavor on these things. We'll see how they are after a round of cleaning. I've heard it recommended to trim the wicks but I can't for the life of me wiggle the tube off. Maybe I'd be more forceful if I had a battery I didn't care about. I keep feeling like I'm going to break something if I work it harder. Maybe it's a moot point. I've only ever gotten a couple of dry hits.

It's good to have an empty syringe around to clean out your 14ga needle after using. I just suck some hot water through them a few times, with the extra syringe. Then blow out the needle with a couple blasts of computer air.
