Am I the only one that finds pictures of ecig set-ups to be a little boastful? I sit around looking at my devices thinking about the fact that I bought this stuff but didn't actually make it...I mean, it's something I bought and that is cool, but it's not something I created. If you do have pictures of your set-up as your avatar, that's great. But, some people have literally thousands of dollars in one pic that looks not only excessive but a bit showy, like showing bank statements or something.

How do you feel?

***EDIT***These are my final words on this topic: The original post in this thread was not my finest hour as a poster. I was wrong and in a bad place when I started this thread and can't continue defending the indefensible just because someone calls me out. I have no problems with pics of set-ups whether small or massive. I am happy to show-off all my gear when someone comes to my house or asks to see. However, I don't attach "pride" to any purchase I make, but I can totally see why people are themselves proud and excited to show-off what they have and how far they have come sense being a smoker. I shouldn't make threads hastily the way I did and because of unrelated irritants.

As far as I am concerned this thread and my original position are dead and never really alive to begin with.

I like to see the different types of PV's out there and how they evolved in the last couple years.. its like going to a Bike night and walking around looking at everyones motorcycles.. seeing all the "mods" people have done to them.. Talking about new ideas and such. Giving each other new ideas.. Im not an envious person, Im usually perty happy of what i got.. Sure sometimes i want more, but i don't dwell on it... maybe one day i have something a lil better..

Not only am I proud of my blossoming collection, but I have built a couple of shelves on my desk to display them. You've gotta admit some of these APVs are truly works of art. On top of that I think about what these beautys have done for me and I'm ready to have them gold plated and put on display for all time.
Its not really a whole lot different than an art collector. Except we can use our art.

I feel you, but I am coming from a community where I see that kind of behavior abound, and I can see the same pictures on a website. I am not envious, just stating my opinion on it. I love seeing pics of set-ups, but just not in a way that looks over done. I see people posturing all the time, the second I walk outside my door and they generally don't get the type of admiration they seek. Like I asked, "Am I the only one?" If I am, then I am. Okay, if you have ten mods...great!

Oh, and I absolutely adore what I have and I love vaping with it. I guess I am not used to the idea of this hobby being as grand as it has become.

As far as modding pv's, I guess I do like to see what people have done, but once again, I was referring to excess.

After reading your post Landlord, I am slightly re-thinking the way I posted the thread, but I am not going to edit it because like pv's over the past few years, I evolve as well. Thanks for responding.

Wow Nelly :), whether you are talking about form or function, I have my own work of art (pv) that is quite pretty, but next time I have a gallery show, I think my pv will not be missed (or any other pv).

ugh..the nerve of them..stinkin' people coming to an ecig forum and posting pictures of their devices so other ecig users can see them and discuss them..damn em to hell, i say.

Haha, you don't have to see from my perspective! I get it, I get it. It sounds like I am jealous, but I am not. I have high-performance gear, that is not what I am talking about. Anyway, let the blasting commence.

p.s. When I posted this, I knew the type of responses I would get, but I wanted to get points of view. So, if you want to try and clown me, that's cool, because essentially that's what I was doing to the posters with the excessive pics.

I enjoy a little PV pr0n on occasion. I'd imagine some are proud of the stable they have put together. I know that my friends and fam in real life would sooner have a root canal than have a tour of my modest PV collection. That leaves one glaring outlet to show off the dog and pony show, an internet forum dedicated to vaping. I really don't see the problem, but then again, everyone here has most likely seen a Provari, the only PV I have at this time (except a few 808 cigarette look alikes), so I haven't had a reason to play show and tell. Yet! :D

Know what - I've only been in this venture for 9 MONTHS TOMORROW (applause..thank you) & never had a clue that ecigs existed before that. I truly enjoy the displays that are pictured-some real works of art. However, I have also found that vaping has become a life-style & a wonderful hobby & people who share common interests are proud to show their wares, be it art, knitting & yes even mods & such. I LOVE SEEING THEM!
