Photos of mods coming off as boastful is an emotion on your side of the spectrum. If someone asks for someone else's setup, and then that image is promptly shown, I don't see how its on their side of the fence to feel boastful about devices that they use daily. What works for them, works for them. What they're willing to spend the money on doesn't matter in terms of how happy they are with the devices and vaping performace they are getting. What you should focus on is whether or not you are happy with your PV's and how happy they make you. I find it nice to see what other ideas other people had and how they are achieving their favorite vape via the devices they own.

And if they do feel boastful, well, good for them. I see no reason why any one person shouldn't feel good or proud about items they spent money on and enjoy using. I like feeling proud about the mods that I own and I don't see it as a drawback to show off every so often, even if I'm not really showing much.

Collection pictures put a few things in perspective. There are a handful of ECF-ers who have experience with many, many different devices. And, the collectors do a lot to support the modders both by buying their wares and by showing them off. Without the modders improving and innovating vaping gear, where would we be?

Individual mods or mods of the same type - as long as they are on topic in whatever thread they're in - are very useful as visual aids when discussing them. If you are reading about a particular mod, it sure helps to know what it looks like to decide if you might want to own one or not.

Some people (myself included) have used a lot of different stuff. For the purpose of this discussion: If I mention that I only know of 5 cartos I've never tried, am I boasting that I've spent a fortune on cartos? Or am I indicating that I can provide you with an opinion about one versus another? You can take it whichever way you want, but you risk missing out on information you were trying to get and you could end up spending a fortune yourself sifting through the junk to find the gems.

And, really: For those who post pics because they're proud of their purchases, I don't think there is anything wrong with that. The forum topic is e-cigs. The forum allows picture attachments. I personally don't mentally attach a dollar amount to whatever is in a photo I'm looking at. And, honestly, I try not to think too much about the money I've spent on vaping gear and supplies.

Ok, first of all, I can see where you are coming from, Mr M. I'm a little obsessive, and I can be hoardy with a new obsesssion, even if I really can't afford to start a pricey new collection (I really really can't), so seeing everyone else's goodies can make me a tad covetous, which isn't always a nice thing to be.... however....

I really love seeing what others are using, and reading why they use them- it enables me to see what's out there that may be better for my needs than what I currently have. Even seeing the mind boggling (possibly boastful) collections some people have amassed is fun for me because once someone has gone beyond collecting what they can possibly use or need, you get into the truly creative, weird, just for fun stuff that you may never have a chance to see anywhere else.

So, you know, boast away, you crazy collecting boasters. I really do want to see what you did to your bottom feeder box mod with nail stickers, fimo and rhinestones, and all your other goodies too. I'll deal with my jealousy, and I won't hate you 'cause you're beautiful.
