The more istick units I see makes me even more convinced I made the right choice for my first mod. I have the TC40W and maybe a bit off topic but what do others think about using the pass through feature to vape while charging?

The iStick 20 was my first step away from eGo devices. Still have it. I named the iStick 30 the number one mod of 2015 (go ahead, ask me why...).

As for pass through vaping, I don't do it even if the mod supports it. I do not feel it is safe enough to put a potentially explosive device up to my face and simultaneously straining, draining, and charging. By the time you've moved up to a box mod or a larger tube mod chances are you have a backup...

I have to give a +1 to what Mr. Hoefer has said. I just don't do it. As Remo Gaggi said in Casino "Look, Why take a chance? At least that's the way i feel about it." Enjoy the day!:2cool:

I also do not consider this device potentially explosive with all the safety features it has like shut off when battery approaches 3.3 Volts. Auto Shut down if you vape longer than 10 seconds and short protection.
In my experience, failure of Chinese electronics is not uncommon.

Are you saying the Eleaf iStick is made in China? The company is located in California and I have not found where the device is actually manufactured.
Eleaf is a subsidiary of Joyetech as is Wismec.

...none of which are going to help when the battery overheats from being taxed too hard while trying to charge and discharge simultaneously.

So an open ended statement about Chinese electronics with no corroboration and a picture of a clone? What am I supposed to think these comments mean?
The iSticks are made in China. I don't think the picture of the Valkyrie was a response to anything you've said, just another contribution to the thread.

Corroboration was in the "division of Joyetech" statement above.

The Valkyrie clone was, indeed, an addition to the thread. Had it been directed at you, I would have quoted your previous message as I am now doing.

Further, the clone is a mech... no electronic chips or boards...

When I requested opinions on a feature of my device I did not expect to be bombarded with people knocking my purchase. I wanted opinions on vaping while charging not all these apocalypse warning of it blowing up in my face. The only thing vaping while charging will do is increase time to fully charge. :2c:

We've all expressed our opinions based on our experiences.

Not one person has knocked your selection. I own one of each iStick... 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 100 with a 100 TC and Basic on order.

None of the potential predictions were apocalyptic. It's just more likely that damage will occur when a device is stressed. Vaping while charging creates stress. The suggestion was made that a backup device be used while the primary is charging. That prevents the stress...

I'd do it. Lots of people here seem extremely and inexplicably paranoid. It's designed for pass through charging so use it.

You'll also learn that you will go straight to hell in a fiery blaze if you charge any external battery mod using the built in and supported USB charging port. I would use an external charger with any dual or more battery mods but I'll always use the USB for my single battery mods.

This was not what I would consider a constructive comment or opinion.

Now this part was a definitely honest opinion which I appreciate.

Considering this is a PICTURE thread of gear, you would be better served if you asked in the Wee Leaf thread about your issue...
