Lets see...

Still using my MVP2 a lot, when not at home. But I have to agree the Kayfun is pretty much blowing my mind. Problem with RBAs was lack of portability for me, the Kayfun was an answer to that and pretty easy to build. Gonna save up for a Russian 91% I guess.

Oh and another big surprise? The Zen carto tank, not usually a huge fan of cartos but this one knocked my bobby socks off.

2009 - 2012:

Cigalikes.jpg This did not do it for me, and I went back to smoking twice

2013:

20130729_151231.jpg I tried almost everything that came out this year, QUIT SMOKING, and...

2014:

Semovar with Kayfun 3.1 in hybrid mode.jpgGG and Ithaka.jpgProvari SnP Dos.jpg...ended up here.

I am really looking forward to 2014, particularly for newer vapers. Let's face it, clearo's are a great place to start, but they are finicky, require some maintenance, and for the most part, gurgle, flood and leak. I think we will see some new designs for clearo's that provide greater juice and air flow control that will help us maintain a balanced pressure seal at the coil. Since we all vape a little differently in the draw, our heat, our materials and our juice, we need to be able to adjust these devices for a wide variety of vaping conditions. We're due this capabililty in a $20 or less topper. Sure the Ithaka (and similar devices) provides excellent juice and AFC, but not an easy build, and not for the new vaper.

I read all the time about the frustration that the new members have with leaking and other issues, while they wonder why these devices "don't work right out of the box." And, for many vapers, they do work pretty well out of the box, but any slight variation from design specs for the juice or material changes or vaping technique or inferior replacement coils, and we can have problems at the pressure seal, i.e., dry hits and/or flooding. If we can make a carburetor work, we can design a topper (clearo) that will work, as well.

2013 was the year of the mechanical, the year of the clone, and perhaps the year where the casual vaper discovered rebuildable coils. Thanks to our reviewers, ECF and YouTube, another Golden Year of Vaping is finished; a transition year with many great new products and a lot of products where version 2.0 or 3.0 can solve many of the problems. While I am a staunch believer in supporting our innovators, the clones are getting much better, and they are certainly a lot less expensive. They allow our new vapers to experience close to top of the line vaping devices at a starting vaper's budget. And, in some cases, the "clones" appear to be secondary marketing efforts from the originators anyway. I will continue to support the innovators because we need them in 2014 to "perfect" some of our current technologies in affordable products, and to give us top of the line performance with a minimal learning curve, and better materials (cotton for example), regulated (safety) devices with broader performance specs (higher wattages with lower resistances) and better gourmet juices that don't cost $1.00 a mil. I know we can do better, and I'm looking forward to it.

2014 was my first full year vaping, having 6 weeks to 6 month efforts in both 2009 and 2011. 2013 gave me the power (long lasting batteries) and control (a variety of inexpensive regulated APV's) using better delivery devices (clearo's and good carto tanks) with some strong enough vapable juices (24 - 36 mg/ml juice at first), that enabled me to power through my smoking cravings once and for all. Thank you ECF and VapeWorld for these advancements that allowed me to finally beat a 3+ PAD American Spirit Black smoking habit; a habit I've had for more than 35 years. Stopped on a dime in January 2013 and haven't smoked since. Truly a blessing, the gift of good health returning, an introduction to a wonderful new hobby, some very cool grown up "toys", many new online friends, and I may have saved some cash along the way too, but I'm afraid to do an actual accounting....I may have spent more on my hobby than smoking would have cost.....but I could have done it for a lot less money with about 25 fewer mods and 50 fewer toppers. YMMV. I could not be more grateful!

2014 promises to be another innovative year, we are on the map now and no longer a "fad", and a serious market that will likely add another 5 - 10 million new vapers/ex-smokers to our group worldwide. That will encourage more innovation and product introductions and continue to help us with the policy makers, both here and in the EU. While I personally feel this way, I think we all have a lot to be thankful for in 2013, and a lot to look forward to in 2014! I am very optimistic! Happy Holidays to All, Power Up and Vape On!

I feel a little overwhelmed here. This is all I've been using since April with no plans to change anything anytime soon.

All you need! I personally love the Sigelei V3 flat top with a carto tank....and I do love IBTanks, as well, and certainly one of my most favorite together with the Phiniac and GP SnP. Great Setup under $100, and probably the setup I would recommend to any new vaper wanting to go beyond the ego and clearo platform. Very nice!

Svoemesto Semovar and Svoemesto Kayfun with Hybrid adapter............Ahhhhh.

Its like "theres a party in my mouth and everyone is invited" (The Simpsons)

Yes, Mr. Bond!

The Semovar/Kayfun with hybrid connection is my favorite setup overall, with my Provari/Carto tank my daily work horse! Very nice! That Semovar allowing coils down to 1 ohms, as well, in a regulated device. I totally agree with you that the Kayfun is the best vape/easiest build combination out there. Totally customizable to your preferences. Add some good home made juice and enter Vaping Nirvana! Have a Happy Holiday Season and a great 2014! Power up and Vape On!
