If a Cadillac is your norm , then asking for someone to replace that for free out their hard earned cash is a bit much ,better get used to a ford until u can afford the Cadillac yourself again.

Especially when u were offered a Ford and turned it down,

Most of us started with a 510 bat and many still use one . Sorry no one can give u your norm Cadillac. most on here dont have one to give away so someone else can have the Cadillac, while they themselves are using a 510

A single 510 batt is useless, you need 2. And if you have 2 510 batts and no pcc, then again useless.

just sayin.

There's a chat thread for it, but I thought I'd offer my response.

You make an excellent point. Things such as mods, LR atties, mega batteries, pretty much upgrade items are a luxury in the vaping world for some, but for others they are the norm. For me, I started out with an 801 I bought at the mall, and after some time, I bought a DSE-905 and a couple LR atties. To me, this was a HUGE upgrade. Longer battery life, a cooler looking device, and an atty that performs far better than the normal atties did. This device, with an LR atty, became my daily unit, and I used it all the time until it died :( This was an upgrade, but in reality, it kept me in the vaping world much better than the regular 801 did.

It takes a HUGE effort for some to swallow their pride and ask for help. Some never ask for help and end up relapsing and we never hear about it, and for them, I assume they have a fear in their heart that they will be seen as taking advantage of someone by asking for help, so they don't ask and they fall off the face of the vaping world.

I agree that a person shouldn't ask for too much, or ask for something that is to much to ask for, but on the flip-side, I ENCOURAGE people to ask for help, even if it's for something that might be seen as a luxury item. If it keeps them going, if it helps them in any way, it's worth fulfilling the need. It tears me up that I don't have Egos or Silver Bullets to give away to people who are in need, and it hurts my heart that I have had to ask for help when I feel that I should be the one helping.

I don't want to ever scare anyone away by saying they shouldn't ask for mods or mega batteries (not saying that you are), and they should be given the opportunity to throw it out there and see if someone responds. It's uncomfy enough to have to swallow pride, it's even worse if someone says "go away, you're asking for too much".

I hope I didn't offend anyone, upset anyone, or overstep any boundaries. This is a sensitive topic for me, and I almost said nothing.

from my experience you don't seem to have trouble with "swallow their pride and ask for help"

I understand that you were ready for more - but you wanted a mod - you didn't need one - heck there is no way of knowing if a mod was truly any better. I'm all for someone who needs a hand up getting one. And for those willing/able to help to help - but sometimes (imo) it looks like people view this group as a candy store with santa at the helm. I'm from the camp where we told our boys early on in life that someone had to pay santa.

I need a roof over my head. I want a 5 bedroom house and house cleaner. that's what I'm saying and think mini-art was saying.

I believe this is the current need, if it hasn't already been filled??

Grrr-I managed to slaughter one of my sidesho batteries in five days (Was really trippin-battery actually BURNT me coming off the charger)-will order more as soon as I get paid tuesday, but if anyone has spares they would be most welcome. I have one limping along at about about two-three hours per charge, filling the gaps with analogs when my neighbor is working, using her spare when she's home.......if not no biggie, analogs for a few days won't kill me.

Don't know if this has been met either, too tired to read through it all again.

Had 2 attys from my last madvapes order.
One, took a swim in the washing machine with my 3 week old Riva battery :(
And today, i accidently blew into (dont ask lol) my last atty and its tastes TERRIBLE. As in...I'm about to go buy a pack of analogs.

If anyone has any spare 510 attys they can spare, i could return the favor by giving them some WYS strawberry or grape, or some TV Butter Rum.

I have been involved with PIF long before this forum started and from the very beginning I have taken no notice of people requesting expensive or upgraded equipment. I survived on 2 401 batts for months before I was able to get a pcc or 'upgrade' to 808's. As far as batteries go, Pifers were generous enough to give me a couple of 510 batts, attys and pt's over the last several months and I bought myself a $20 Hello016.

I have given away more attys, stock batteries, juice, chargers, carts, and cartos than I can count and will continue to do so when I can but as far as fancy stuff goes . . . . . I wouldn't dream of asking.

I would really like it if those were requested in the 'wants' and not the needs thread. I check here everyday and I get disillusioned by seeing the same people asking for free stuff that even I (a 12 month vaper) don't have . . don't need . . . and won't ask for.

On the same note. Feel free to ask for basic stuff that you need to keep vaping. The vets have been here a long time and we know what is really needed.
