I don't know why but I do love the pinoy mods. The most interesting one yet , just ordered it last night is "The Rival" it is a Pinoy take on the Nemesis! Not only does it look awesome but all parts are interchangeable with the nemmy. I don't think the intention is that itself being the selling point but rather them saying it is exactly the same. So it will be an interesting purchase to say the least , you get a clone with quality build and material of an "original" , also a great option for people that would love a Nemmy but can't quite afford or justify the cash. Rival mod is in the ballpark of $140

When you get Pinoy mods there at home through group buys the prices can be comparable...the SRP when purchased in brick and mortar and online shops are quite high though. I have seen mods being sold there where the prices are almost double what the local shops here sell them for. An example would be that Private v2 you are eyeing...over here it is about 127 USD.

I know. I am actually asking my cousing to purchase a couple of mods for me in the Philippines and bring it here when he comes this October. What I will pay here for one, I can get 2 over there. Plus, now I am eyeing this new mod called the Rival, which is almost like a Neme and the parts are supposed to be interchangeable. Want to know how much that would cost too. Do you happen to know the name of the company that makes the Rival?

Sorry it took so long to answer ya , I been busy lately. I got mine at vapor venue "the vape monkey" not sure if he sold out of them though? Last I saw he only had one left. The modders name is Jae , I cant remember his last name but he is well known in the Pinoy vaping community , so he shouldn't be too hard to look up. It's a very cool mod though , I'm looking forward to getting it.

Thanks. So I take it the Rival was built here.

Ok , got my Rival today. My first impression of this mod was , WOW! Really beautiful mech. It comes as a mix finish with satin top cap , then polished main tubes , then back to satin for the lock ring back to a polished button. It really is stunning but then you piece it together and quickly realize this is not a nemesis. The threads are somewhat crunchy and had a hard time getting one of the tubes to thread at all , although I did get it all together and the threads are starting to work out their issues. Unlike the Nem , this has a very soft switch spring and fires under its own weight. The button itself , is not of the same caliber but I think replacing the spring with a tighter one should improve it greatly. The contacts are not silver plated but straight brass , that said , it hits extremely well. I didn't do a voltage drop on it yet but I will go out on a limb and say it's gotta be very low. The air flow control only has one 2mm air hole where as the Nem has two of those , so I'm guessing interior airflow might suffer from that? I only use

So in your opinion is the 45 dollar savings worth getting the Rival over the original? Some of these clone prices are getting ridiculous. I could understand the China ones for under 20 bucks, but paying almost high end prices for clones that have issues is kind of a head scratcher.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY FILIPINO VAPERS GET A BAD WRAP FOR SHOWING THE MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF VAPOR CAPABLE OF SOME MODS. NOT EVERYONE NEEDS THEM BUT SOME PEOPLE WANT TO SEE THE CAPABILITIES OF WRAPPING COILS AND MODDING OF RBAs. MOST RECENTLY WAS PBusardo, I hear all kinds of races talking about vapor production amounts... I just recieved my VHO 1.5 and It kicks ...., major plumes, near 0 V drop and yes, I will YT it soon. Love the Pinoy mods and will prolly only buy them from now on. daze

Can someone tell me the price of the Maraxus in the Philippines. The manufacturer quoted me a price higher than what I can buy it for here in the States. I'm guessing the exchange rate should make it lower cost for me.

What was your quoted price? mine about RM 700 - USD 200+- for the normal mods and USD 250 for the Iron man edition

I completely understand where PBusardo is coming from. Before I learned of vaping, I saw someone blowing massive clouds on a tank and I thought that it could not possibly be good for him. Of course now that I am vaping myself, and I've learned more about it, I know it's not that bad at all. But the majority of people still won't understand, and it really isn't going to help give vaping a good rap because to the uninformed, that vapor cloud isn't any different to smoke.

I puff on a Vanilla topped with an Immortalizer with a 0.8Ohm coil. I'm in no way puffing clouds as large as some of those in YouTube, but I still turn some heads when I vape on our building's smoking area. I can't help but think that the same thoughts I had are running through these people's heads. When the masses know more about vaping and how it is so much less harmful than smoking analogs, then this won't be a problem at all.

Personally, I do not find offense with Mr. Busardo's little rant on YouTube and I found his little joke at the Legal Vape 4000 video quite hilarious. I don't know of any other vaper here who took offense with that as well.

People have different reasons for chasing clouds. Some genuinely like to vape that way, while some just do it just because they can. Some do it to prove or test a device's capability while some do it to merely show-off. My hat goes off to those who simply want to push the boundaries in atomizer and device set-ups to increase vapor production and flavor in a safe and responsible manner.

That said, I'm really impressed with the quality and workmanship our local mod makers are putting into their devices. Having owned one, and having held several others, I find that most of them are solidly built with pretty good finish. I was tinkering with the idea of making my own mech and speaking to a friend who owns a machine shop, it isn't as easy to do as I initially thought. A lot of effort and attention to detail goes into getting these things just right.

They quoted me $225 for original one. Then I found it online for $190. And now they have the clones coming out.

This is the same thing I had to deal with when I went to the Philippines. Everyone kept trying to charge me more because I was a foreigner. Too bad my wife is Filipino and grew up there so she wasn't having any of that. We would just have our money in our hand in their view and start walking away.

It doesn't look like there has been any post's here lately. But I have to ask this question. My girlfriend wants to get me a high end mech for Christmas, and I was going to go nemesis. But seeing how they are sold out everywhere and how everyone has one. I really wanted to get a pinoy mod I never see them around and I really like the looks of them. I am considering the Sentinel V4 or the VHO titan 1.5. I like the looks of the Sentinel more. But performance wise I have no idea which is better. Anyone what to chime in and help me make a decision. She is also getting me a Nimbus. I am really excited but don't know what to choose. lol
TLDR:
Sentinel V4 vs VHO Titan 1.5 what would you choose?
