Howdy :)

Had to get 5 posts in before they would let me post where I really wanted to be :D

I've been smoke free for two months now, having walked into a local vape shop and seen a boxed pipe set; I new I wanted one right off the bat!

Having tinkered around and made these, I've run into a serious problem,, pieces parts!!

Anyone have recommendations on where to find decorative buttons/ switches and what not?
Honestly as a ~former pipe smoker, I'm not a fan of putting the switch on top of the bowel and am at a stand still for a switch.
I got lucky with the little button on the short pipe from digging around in some spare parts, but really want a nice one to put on the bottom of the bowel on the tavern pipe.
Any suggestions for the new guy?

Thanks in advance!!

John

I understand the desire for a side or bottom switch. I turn my epipe mod sideways to fire because it is more comfortable. Again, Welcome! Some of the mods that I have been keeping an eye on are the freighttrainmods dna 12 powered pipe with a side button, but have been planning out the process for making my own. Looking for pieces, I have been struggling to find an affordable pipe stem, $20 seems too much.

Nofretz, thanks for the links! I'm headed over there to register shortly!!

Milo hobo, man those pipes are nice, but priiiiicey! what kind of stems are you looking for? I can get short vulcanite ones pretty cheap at our local pipe shop (though Frank gives me the meanest look when I go in there now ) I'm looking for long churchwardens and having a hell of a time finding anything over 8 inches

welcome.....dragonjohn.....If you are looking for parts and pieces, their where you find them, I know.....not much help......

If you don't like the top button (EPM), look in on this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/485387-building-custom-pipes.html on the last couple of pages Mstr Mashnst is talking about a drop in unit for old tobacco pipes.

As to the 20 dollar stems (milo)....remember you are paying someone to fit a stem to work on a E-Pipe.....

If you have the skill and the tools, you can get Lucite stems for anywhere from about 4 to 6 dollars, look here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-pipe-models/435949-pipe-talk-where-buy.html......find stems.....Pipe markers Emporium.....

And no......making a E-pipe stem on the cheap is not that hard.......

duckie.............

Duckie, thanks for the lead!

Milo,
I've got the link Pipe Makers Emporium | Briar, Quality Stems, Pipe Repair&Classes

I lucked into a source of old 60's stems that have a soft rubber adapter that I can cut/ sand down, they fit into a standard (if you could call it that) drip tip hole.

Im told with vulcanite if you warm it up you can carefully bend it to your liking. it was suggested to use hot sand as not to burn it.

I'm hoping to find some stems in the 10-12 inch range but no luck so far
