Hello. I'm currently a pipe smoker, but looking to try vaping as an alternative to lighting up my smokey pipe around the house. Most here seem to be former cigarette smokers, so I wasn't sure if there were many pipe users on here.

I'm in the Minneapolis area, so quite afew vape shops to check out. This weekend I'm going to visit one by my house and pick up a starter kit :)

Any suggestions on liquids to try? I've seen quite afew threads on how the tobacco liquids aren't very tobacco like, but was hoping someone may have found one that isn't bad..

Thanks

To each his own when it comes to e-liquids and flavor. Tobacco juices most long time vapors try to hang on to it but once you try other flavors like cheese cake etc it's hard to go back to tobacco. For me the strong tobacco flavors that reminded me of a small cigar was e-liquids from liqua. I ordered on line ad there is no vape shops where I live. Also there are a few ecigs that look like pipe so you can still have your nicotine in the same form factor as a pipe. Hope this helps

I smoked a pipe exclusively for a number of years before returning to cigarettes. I did not inhale a pipe. It was a slower release of nicotine and a longer satisfying experience than tobacco cigarettes. I think you will find this factor in common with vaping. It does not have to be a quick "hit" like cigarettes. You may find a lower nicotine level used for longer periods may be quite similar to pipe smoking. Also the larger devices are similar to holding a pipe. Heck there are even pipe mods now!

There's pipes, and there's PIPES that can be used for vaping. Much like the juices where there are those that are created with artificial tobacco flavours vs the ones that are extracted from actual tobaccos, the quality of the device itself can vary. There have been a few vendors in recent years that have created beautiful electronic pipes that can add to the feel of vaping a pipe tobacco. Epipemods is perhaps one of the most popular out of the U.S. Check them out when you get a chance as well.

I've been lucky to have owned a few of their beauties. Here's a sampling of some of mine:

Congratulations on your effort to switch from the pipe and good luck. I have a few suggestions for you. First, I just started to vape in January and like you, was in the hunt for a good tobacco replacement. I hate to say how many flavors I bought from a ton of vendors and kept striking out. Eventually I found two that I liked, Legend from Heathers Heavenly Vapes, and French Pipe from EJC. The EJC link is here: Infusion French Pipe Premium Ejuice - EJC Labs It is great! My daughter and a few of her friends tried it too, and immediately took a liking to it. Highly recommended.

Another suggestion, once you get started and decide vape is for you, is to make your own. It's very simple to do and for something like French Pipe you can get started very cheaply. French Pipe Flavor by Tobacco Express 10ml - ecigExpress I bought my flavoring here and look at the comments, which are very favorable and give some easy recipes.

Best of luck to you.

Long time smoker. Started smoking back in 67 (g). Mainly cigs when out and about but a pipe at home. If you're like me you have 100 plus pipes racked and a fair amount of tobacco stashed. I started vaping last June, haven't had a cig since. I started noticing that I wasn't pipe smoking as much as I was used to, then basically stopped all together. As I sit here typing, I have about two dozen pipes in easy arms reach, and various jars of tobacco gathering dust. So you might take this as a warning (G). For a pipe tobacco like flavor just look around. I have a carto loaded with a Latakia flavor that I vape on a couple of times a week!

I've been a non-inhaling pipesmoker off and on. I still smoke a pipe occasionally and I don't inhale (and yeah, you do absorb nicotine tha way, although much slower).

I think you'll like tobacco-flavored e-liquids. Vaping tobacco flavors is a lot more like pipe smoking in terms of the flavor.

I'd recommend Dekang or Hangsen "Desert Ship" if you are into non-aromatic pipe tobacco's. RY4 or RY3 are also good choices if you want something more like aromatic pipe tobacco. I also like cigar flavors, like Havana Tobacco or Havana Gold.
