pipe-smoker mannerisms

anyone else find themselves gesticiulating with their mod the way a pipe-smoker would with their pipe? was away at the weekend and found myself pointing out buildings and streets on the map with the tip of my mod - funny - I'll be tapping out imaginary old tobacco next.

plus if my girlfriend asks me a question when I've just started a toke she has to wait about 5 seconds for an answer.

I found myself doing the same thing. At first I thought it was because I did smoke a pipe at one time, then I realized that one reason I can "gesture and point" with my PV is that I no longer have to worry about burning someone or something or having my ash fall off (just like a pipe I guess.

LOL I too have noticed the same thing. I've never been a pipe smoker but do find that I hold mine in the same manner. Maybe it's the flat cart tips I use that are nearly the same as the pipes.

For a variation on that, I actually saw a laser pointer attachment for some PV battery (sorry - don't know where I saw that)

Excuse me dear chap, could you be so kind as to point me towards the nearest petrol station?
(chap finishes a leisurely drag)
(installs the laser pointer)
and points the way

My kids caught me doing the same thing with my PV yesterday and called me out on it. Too funny!!

I have to ask...why does your girlfriend have to wait 5 seconds for a response from you when you've started a toke? (Just curious.)

Cuz he draws for at least that long before stopping. I understand completely. Caught myself doing the same thing at times.

Ahhh okay. I generally have to wait until I exhale to answer or talk to anybody. It makes my voice sound "full" (just can't explain it) as if I were smoking from a hookah. The kids don't really like waiting but it does make me chuckle.
