safe distance from a black hole
To entertain myself I bought a pipe stem type drip tip to sit on my mtl tanks. Thought it would be a bit funny, a novelty.
Turns out Im really liking the vape experience using it!
I generally vape VG/DW and with my usual set ups there is no big throat hit, its very smooth, I do miss the throat hit.
But using the pipe drip tip there is a throat hit, not a big one or a harsh one, just pleasant. I kept going between the usual drip tips and the pipe drip tip on my mtl tanks and on all four I had the same experience, smother with the usual drip tips, throat hit with the pipe drip tip.
I tried a very mild menthol apple mix in one tank and not only was the throat hit stronger with the pipe style drip tip but the flavours were more present.
Just wondering if anyone has done this and experienced the same sort of thing or if Im just having some sort of weird heightened awareness sort of day, or maybe an easily convinced kind of day

Haven't used any of those, but compare the bore size - the hole through it - to your regular style tips. While the probably longer pipe type tip may provide a slight amount of cooling, big changes in the bore can have a big effect on the vape. The smaller bore will deliver a warmer vapor.

Drip tips do have a noticeable effect on the vape your getting. I never tried the tip you are speaking of, but I notice a big difference between drip tips with different inner diameter holes. I get more flavor from smaller inner diameter hole drip tips over wide open ones. It can also change the throat hit since the vapor is more condensed in smaller ID tips.

@Jebbn - After just reading your post, I pulled out a long, metal, drip tip (with a curve in about the last 1" of it at the mouthpiece end), that a friend gave me...and I'm trying it on my Berserker. I do get a cooler vape with it, but no difference in the throat hit.

ETA: After quite a few more hits on it, I'm unfortunatley getting less flavor with the pipe drip tip though.

Hey @JCinFLA, thanks.
Its one of those things where Im wondering if Im just imagining things, It may just be the cooler vape that is bringing out the flavour menthol more sharply and maybe the sense of a throat hit.

I use them sometimes when i'm feeling 'Sherlocky'. The restricted bore on the tip and the way i vape it seems to focus the flavour on a particular area of the tongue. It enhances with some flavours but detracts from others. Can't say i've noticed much difference with throat hit though..
Someone (i.e. not me) should look into which areas of the tongue suit different vape liquid flavour profiles o_O

Mine looks the most like the 1 on the lower right in this pic below, but mine is aluminum, so it has a more satin look to it. It fits just right into my Berserker drip tip hole, and has almost the same metal look to it as the top of the Berserker. So, it looks funny, but not quite as funny as yours on that tank. :D

Im going to get my Sherlock on, hit google search, do some sleuthing, correlate the results of the analyses and then hit buy now on a few different pipe stem/longer driptips of various sorts and see if I have similar results, or not
If I happen to buy a mod and tank while Im out there that might look good with a pipe stem drip tip attached, so be it.

I thought you were talking about the drip tip that comes with innokin t18 and t22's ;)

I used this when I first started as it was a cooler vape and just felt better. Its funny how you change. I now only use this wee shorty (comes with innokin zenith)

Whatever works to give you the vape you enjoy is a winner -no matter what it looks like ;)
