Hello modders,

I want to build an unregulated box, just for fun really. I have ordered the parts needed, including a N-channel mosfet, 15k ohm resistor, 16mm switch, fat daddy vapes 510, 18650 battery sled, voltmeter. But I don't really have anything in hand at this time, it takes awhile for the mail to get to me.

I haven't really seen anyone fit a voltmeter that can be seen from the outside of the box in a 1590G. It might be too small to fit one, that I don't know. But I would like to try it with a dremeled-out square opening at some part of the box.

I realize the G is a small box, but it would look so cool if I could fit everything in there. It seems to me like I could fit the voltmeter along with the mosfet on the left side of the battery sled. Has anyone tried this before?

If it's single batt I definetely think it will fit... If it's dual batt it will depend on your cramming skills. Mamu got an entire raptor build in a box that's slightly smaller than yours, however she is a wizard so we'll see

Thanks, I am going to try it with dual batts. Hopefully, I can make it work.

Found a pic of a raptor in a 1590g won't be easy but possible

If using a Keystone or MPD battery holders, you have to reduce the width to a minimal size same as two 18650s. You'll likely also have to drill and dremel out the lower right screw mount.

With some of the 3d printed battery holders available, you can avoid most of those modifications.

I have some battery holder designs here https://www.shapeways.com/designer/david4500

They are 37mm in width and will avoid the screw mount

yeah, of course I will post pictures. I am probably going to do it next week. I have a black 1590g, factory painted. I have put magnets in it and drilled out a hole for the 510. I am not sure about the switch, though, and haven't drilled that yet. I could make the 16mm switch work, but I would have to take out one of the box corner screw mounts... or mount it without the nut and just use epoxy or something, but I am going to use that as a backup plan. I will look for a 12mm switch first and use the 16mm for my next mod, a triple battery B Box.

The G looks good so far with the magnets in it though. And they really work great too, better than I have seen most mass produced mods with magnetic back plates.
