I know this has been asked before but can't seem to find it. So i just got my first ViVi Nova 2.5's today, and immediately switched from my DCT 1.5ohm to the 1.8ohm head and poured the juice from the DCT to the Vivi. Well wirked great got great TH, but the flavor was really plasticy tasting. I said ok used it for a while, and finally said this can't be right. Soooo i switched to a 2.8 head and same thing suprisingly really great TH but plasticy flavor. I am using an older e-Power 18650 the one without the ego threads. The only other batts i have are ego 650mAh. No twists. Will this go away or did i burn two heads right away. I even dripped juice onto the coils till the wick looked clearish.

I also asked this on the tanks thread for Clearos, but i like faster responses lol so i reposted here. Mods can remove if they need to.

I'm getting the same issue with my 2.5.. I've read and heard nothing but great things. I got it and I've been trying to use it for the past 3 days... all I can think is, am I missing something? I literally have to flood the coil to get a good flavor. Otherwise, dry burn and rubber is all I taste. I'll leave it to wicking issues, but I see these reviewers chain vaping the crap out of them with no problems.. I tilted, I twirled.. I even vaped it at a downward angle and that "helps" but I shouldn't have to vape something upside down.

I haven't tried upside down yet, but i just filled up one of the others and cut out the fabric shield thing around the coil on it, and i'm letting it sit over night for in the morning. Hopefully it was just not letting it wick long enough before trying to use it. If not i just don't know what else it could be!

Ugh. Sounds like too much hassle to me. I did the clearomizer thing back months ago...liked them for like a month (maybe?), then it turned into an endless "gotta fiddle with the d@mn things" mess. Glad I haven't caved and gotten any of those ViVi Novas. They just LOOKED like something I was going to have to fiddle with! lol! They might be great for some people, but don't suit me, I'm pretty darn sure.

Good luck ya'll! Hope it works out. Thanks for helping confirm I've made the right decision to stay with what I know works and that I like!

Ok Sooo... its morning now, and i had the tank i filled last night but didn't use on my e-Power 18650 and no plasticy burnt taste. Dunno if its the different Vivi or if its the fact that the coils had all night to soak up juice. But the flavor is great now im not geting the crack pop that the usual LR gives. I'll take that any day over the burnt taste tho! I'll have to get some wick and wire to rebuild these heads now though. After a little more research i found some threads that said this could be the issue.

I had the same plastic taste with my first vivi nova, but not the second one? Anyway after using it for a few days the plastic taste disappeared in the 1st one. Some people have said there is a break in period with these, that's what I figured was happening with the first one I bought, but why was the second one fine out of the box? I don't really know, but keep using it, the taste should go away in a short period of time.

I put this in another thread, but seriously I think a whole bad batch of bad silica was produced and put in everything. The first Vivi nova 2.5 I had were great, many months ago. I even rebuilt with silica and they were great. A couple months ago I got some new silica and some new nova tanks. Both were bad and just dont work well.
