Yes, I guess this is for a veteran since I'm rather ignorant regarding batteries and all I get is loads of different, contradictory opinions that all seem to make sense. The thing is I pre-ordered the VV Lavatube and it works with 18650 batteries. I've been trying to understand which batteries I should buy for it, from the AW 2900 to the IMR at 1600 mah and there are many mah in between too and I just can't come to a conclusion - in the meantime, my Lavatube will arive. Some people say the more mah the better, that batteries may last up to three days and so forth. Someone else said the IMR would definitely be the best because it would give the very best performances while higher mah would never be up to it. I'm totally confused and I'd really like a "blonde explanation" from someone with experience and knowledge in PV batteries.
Furthermore, I'm not much into drip tipping although one can more or less easily find HV attys and I hear there are HV cartos but it looks as they're a bit hard to find - that is for vaping at higher voltages (the Lavatube goes from 3v to 6 v). It is also commonly mentioned that the dual coils work like a charm in high voltages such as those as they do in my X Power, for example, that is with the 510 adapter. Is that precisely so? And do cartos drain too much liquid and batteries at higher voltages or is it the other way round (because I've been told that and just the opposite as well). Thank you so very, very much, because I really need to know how to use my Lavatube. :)

When I see conflicting advice, I like to find out for myself.

What I would do in this situation is get 1 of the black AW's and 1 of the red IMR's. They will both work just fine and are really good batteries. THEN, after using them both, decide which way you want to go battery wise. You may find that the higher mah rating doesn't necessarily mean more vape time in a "booster" type mod because it has to draw more power to make the higher voltage. The IMR's are designed to give the extra power so they may in fact be the better choice. I honestly don't know as I own a Buzz Pro. I'm sure someone will come along with more knowledge about this type of mod and batteries.

As for cartos, the standard resistance cartos work very well at higher voltage. I know there are some HR cartos available but they aren't necessary. The dual coils are a little trickier. Some mods (and some batteries) can see them as a shorted atty and won't fire. I personally like the SR Boge carto's at high voltage.

Higher voltage can drain your batteries faster and you will go through more juice unless you actually vape less at a higher voltage. I tend to vape more because it's so much better. :D

for vv devices, i haven't found a longer lasting battery than the provape branded 2500mah. i measure the longevity of a battery charge in ml's of juice, rather than hours. running a dual coil 1.5ohm carto at 4.6v, i can go through 7ml of juice before i need to charge.

though i didn't measure the juice usage, this battery in a silver bullet, dripping on an lr510, lasted 2 straight days.
