It depends on how the base is kept but I think kept under ideal circumstances in a cool dark place or even in your freezer a year. The bottle usually has the born on date. Flavorings opened probably six months maybe more. Unopened I have no idea. I don't know if they technically go bad but I heard you would know by a flavor change.

I've read that nicotine can last several years and the only thing that will happen is it could lose some strength. Flavorings can go bad in 6 months but I recently spoke with Capella and she said they have some flavorings that are 4 years old and still good. She said they may have lost some of their strength but no change in flavor. I had one go bad and it tasted like vinegar. LorAnn says their flavoring will last for 1-2 years. There seems to be quite a few different opinions so your question isn't easy to answer.
