Ok, I got a new shortie as a freebie and they are different. The vapor is better, but I like the draw on the other shorties better. I notice that the life span on these is shorter than the original shorty. I have timed them to a point, and instead of the 2+ hours I was getting theses only have a 1 hour usage rate.
My only complaint is the limited usage time of the new ones. However, I find the increased vapor is not as strong as the regular vapor. So, for me I prefer the original batteries over the new ones. What do you think? Chime in and let V4L know, as honest feedback is useful! Thanks again!

Just got a new shorty manual with bigger holes and noticed it's quite a bit louder than the old ones. Not sure about life compared to other shorties as this is my first one. I'll agree with you on the vapor too.

Thanks Pav for chiming in. I did notice the increased noise as well. I am assuming that the vapor increase statement refers to the fact that there is more, but doesn't pack a punch...smile. Anyways, Do you know how long your new shorty is lasting? Say compared to your regs or XL batteries? This thread is for feedback purposes only! Again, thanks a lot Pav.

if you vape nonestop, yeah it lasts about an hour, but on and off vaping, as it's intended, is about 2-3 hours for me

Thanks Kimmy for Chiming in. Good question, but I don't vape constantly, plus I alternate between two batteries. I usually vape 2 puffs switch, 2 puffs switch 2 more puffs and put them away for a while. The time that your shorty last is the same time I get out of the original shorties that I have. The new one I have doesn't last as long. Are you sure you have the shorty with the larger holes? Because your information is consistant with the older models before these came in. Thanks again for chiming in.

Yep, I have 3 of the new shorty manuels. I also rotate too. The green one doesn't work as good as my blue and pink one though.

Oh, so it might just be a defect? That would explain it. Thanks for that added information. So, do you like the easier draw, and the slight increase in noise? Just asking, the noise doesn't bother me, but the hit is different to me due to the draw.

Well in general, the shorter the battery, the shorter the life. I like my shorty for when I'm in class or when I'm somewhere I don't want people to see me vaping. I don't think yours is nessecarily defective, but I do believe we obviously have something eachother is doing differently. It all varies, ya know, based on how long your drags are? I think it's basically about preference. I don't mind the noise, and I really really love the hit on my pink manual shorty batt--it's my new favorite battery! It may not last as long as I'd like, but it is very convienent for me when I'm at school!:D

i like the new larger holes--but i vape with manuals and my vaping style is definitely easy-draw oriented. i think they pack more of a punch than the old shorties, but that's just me. i rarely use my shorty tho, so i can't comment on battery life.

Thanks for chiming in, I do like the new shorties, just maybe a glitch in the one I have as far as charge time goes. I'll be getting in a few manuals ones and hope that makes the difference. If not, I'll update on here. Thanks again.

Just tried my new manual shorty again and dang is this thing loud. I'm switching the same carto back and forth between my reg manual to make sure that it's not from the carto. The reg is nice and quiet.

depending on how hard I tighten the carto, the noise increases or decreases, but the noise never goes away. tighter is louder. almost to the point of being a whistling sound.

Is this due to the new larger holes that also extend to the base that is around the outside under the threading?

This makes me worry a bit if all future manuals will have these larger holes. Should I be?

FYI

Holes larger on manual, and smaller on auto

Steve

What, really? Because the short black auto I received as a freebie gift from you, had holes twice as big as my other shorty autos. So, was that a new one, or do you mean the autos that we order? Because, if the manuals have holes bigger than that auto holy cow, cause those are pretty large in comparison.

Hummm... I think that these are them, for now. I wrote this thread to get opinions so V4L can decide to provide 2 types of draw on there batteries or not. If I'm not mistaken that was a possibility, albiet one that they didn't want to do, but if a lot of us want the older ones and a lot or us want the newer ones, then maybe providing that as an option to the battery selection (easy draw or normal draw) would make good sense. Thanks for chiming in again Pav.

I ordered the older shorties that is auto, and got a new one thrown in (thank you so much for that guys) that is manual............I really, really like it. Sometimes it seems too much, but over all I like it and use it a LOT. Perhaps if most feel the holes are too much, maybe right in the middle would be a good place. ....just my two cents. .....and besides that, it is a blue one with logos on it - looks great with my butterscotch (new fav) carto!!! I'm a happy camper!

Im not sure if the shorty auto is new or not the holes are larger than the reg bat, my question is that it cuts off at 4-5 seconds each time i have tried it today.I am less than 24 hours into vaping got my kit yesterday and yep its charged is that average cut off time

No, that's not my expirence. Mine cuts off in 10 seconds. I'm not sure, but it seems like it could just be a defect. If you like the size and all order one and see how you like it. I just got onto manuals (all sizes), so definately try those if you haven't already.

We were planning to keep the extra large holes for the manuals, and reduce the hole size slightly for the autos, but the supplier screwed up and made all the connectors with slightly smaller holes, and it was too late to change it before the Chinese New Year holiday.

So all the new batts and passthroughs we receive before CNY, auto and manual, will have holes larger than our old batteries, but not as large as the new shorties. But future orders will have larger holes on the manuals than the autos.
