I only have ego style devices and I love them. I see no need to try something different because what I have works wonderful for me. Throat hit has a lot to do with the pg vg mix ratio, the nicotine level, the power being used to atomize the liquid. There is much more than just the battery behind getting more vape and better throat hit

Well, the sub ohm coil builds give alot of throat hit which is why the guys blowing big clouds use mech mods and usually don't use higher than 6 mg nic due to the throat hit. But I highly do NOT recommend that for someone new to vaping. You really need to know what you are doing when it comes to building sub ohm coils and using the right batteries for it. So in answer to your question, if you are new then an Ego Twist battery is probably better and you can try lower ohm coils like 1.7 or 1.8 ohms. But if you want to get into building coils eventually then a mech mod would be fine used the same way. And like Dreaswi stated, high VG eliquids help with the vapor and is what most cloud chasers prefer to use on their mechs. I use 80/20 VG/PG and get tons of throat hit and vapor on 1.9 ohm microcoils also, and use 6 mg nic due to the better throat hit. Dripping also helps with the throat hit.

You can get plenty of throat hit with an eGo setup. It's really more about the juice (more PG and more nic lead to more TH). If you're new to all this then jumping straight to a mechanical is way overkill! It's confusing, dangerous, and just plain unnecessary. Test the waters first, do some research, there are some exceptional non-mechanical mods that are far safer and user friendly than a mech...I'm looking at YOU ProVari :vapor:

Seriously though, while what I have is a high end device, there are other mods for much cheaper that can provide a vape just about as good, but then you have to ask yourself, is the mod itself as good? They range from cheaply made (but good vape) to very well made (still good vape).

It's really all about the juice, how well it's wicking, and the amount of power at the coil.
