I love my gripper, even with it's flaws. A nice little device. I'm still torn between the 2 provari models. If I knew I could easily get my hands on the 18650 extension from Kir Fanis I would pull the trigger on the mini. I think it's true that a nicley designed 18650 mini extension from Provape would drasticly drop the sales of the provari. That is why it probably never made production. I have found anything from Kir Finis is impossible to get your hands on. I have never seen the 18650 mini extension with the exception of a picture on the ECF.
The mini 18650 extension by kir fanis is available at gr modder and a couple of other retailers. The reason why it is not too popular is the mismatched color to the Provari shade of silver and in no other color.

I like the size and weight of the V2, actually I am interested in getting the extension cap for it as well. I was surprised when I first received it how much smaller it was compared to the silver bullet I was using. I like my PVs to be long enough for a good grip with battery enough to vape all day, so it was the perfect size for me. If I wanted something smaller for going out that might not cause so much alarm I would probably go with a twist. For now though my Provari goes everywhere with me!

Does anyone have issues with the finish comming off or scratches on the black satin. I have not heard anyone ever talking negatively of the black satin finish but I'm just curious. Also, why don't I see the green L.E.D. option on any Provari. Was it a limited edition or something. Thanks POSEIDON for all the great pixs!

Heyas Tibby,

I live fairly close to you, and own 3 of them.

A satin black which I run with the extension cap (18650) and get about 1.7 days of vape time on a carto (4.5v) or 12 hrs dripping (5.5v), a chrome which I run with a 18490 (don't use all day, so forget vape times, use for 3rd breakup flavor), and a satin silver mini which I use all day with the satin black. The mini I use with 18350s and get about 17 hrs vape time on a carto (4.5v) and 6 hrs vape time dripping (5.5v). Oh the carto is boge 3.0 ohm, and the atty is an hh.357 3.0 ohm LB. Oh and I tend to chain vape more when dripping. Times are subjetive of course.

I like it either in large or mini mode more than standard, kinda wierd maybe. The mini is small enough to take anywhere and stealth vape with, but the black satin just makes it's presence known in your hand. Usually I end up using the black satin the most, has been the mod I've dropped on concrete (not much damage to the finish), been through theme park abuse, camping, you name it. I like having the extra vape time in hand and not having to worry so much about taking a spare battery with me when out and about.

With that said, it really is much easier to pack a mini in your pocket than the 18650 configured provari, and so depending on the trip I'm taking out the door, I pick one or the other -- more often than not, I take both. Primary vape in the black satin and you get the idea.

I find that I hold them a bit differently when I vape em. I fire the mini with my middle finger and the other two with my index finger.

Anyhow, reason for this post. If you want to meet up and hold them and vape em to see which one is right for you, I'm all for it.

I'm about 60 miles from you (used center of cities to get an idea), or we can even meet at tasty vapor in Oakland.

Oh and some pics to complete the post. :p

I should probably mention that I got the chome to go with me on my rides (matches the bikes nicely) but the chrome is a finger print magnet and doesn't feel as nice in the hand, but sure looks nice when polished up. :)

For sure Envithyx! I hit up Tasty Vapor Almost once a week depending on the sale flavors. Would love to hold the mini. I have another 2 weeks before I pull the trigger and buy one. I'm almost positive on picking up the mini. Now gotta decide between satin black or silver. I work a rotating shift schedule in Richmond, Ca. working nights and days so meeting up may be tough. Mabey next time you head to T.V. you can let me know. I tried to find a Bay Area vape group but coulden't find one. I feel a bit better with all the feedback on here. Initially I thought droppind $180 on a device so small was not a good idea but liked the look of the mini better. Also, was worried that I woulden't like where the button was in my hand. So holding one would be great. Thank you.

I had this issue with the black chrome V1. Its scratched all to hell and back...but I got my black satin V2 and Ive dropped it numerous times...on concrete. I have it in a machine shop on a daily basis where it is constantly coming in contact with metal and other hard surfaces, I take it out of my pocket and toss it onto my work table and theres not a scratch in the thing. I doubt ANYONE could be as hard on their provari as I am.

I honestly thought by now it would look as bad as my black chrome but its a trooper.

Wow Envithyx!
Nice provari collection, and that gitfiddle ?

Thanks. :) It's a PRS Smokeburst Paul Mccarty, think I got it back in 2009. When I went to take pics of some gear, I tried to find stuff that was just as interesting to look at as the PVs. :D

Edit: Turns out I probably got it early 2010, not even sure if it was out in 2009. *shrug*

Ok, I got the regular size (because I was SICK of changing batteries) even tho I LOVED the teardrops on the mini so much more. I sure wish I'd gotten the mini.

I vape with my thumb on the button. Here's what it looks like with a Vision clearomizer on it next to a standard tape measure, in my hand for reference size and in the position I vape it with. Now that KF has the 18650 extension, you can use all 3 battery sizes on the mini.

...but having said all that...just go ProVari and you'll be happy... :)

I need some help swaying me in one direction. I am going to be purchasing a provari in 2 weeks but can't decide if I want the V2 or mini. I really like the teardrop look of the mini but am scared to drop a couple hundred bucks on something so tiny. I know this sounds stupid but that's how I'm feeling. I understand that everything is the same on the 2 models except for size and run time. I'm pretty sure the extention cap on the mini makes it roughly the same length as the V2. I plan on getting the satin silver finish on either one I choose. The V1 is attractive to me because it's a bit larger and looks more comfortable in hand. I have never handled a Provari and currently own a Vision Spinner and a Bolt. Also, The V2 can handle 18650 batteries with an extention and I own a few already. I know I shoulden't base my decision on the fact that I have a few compatible batteries. I guess the bottom line is I would like some feed back on why you purchased one or the other. If you have both, some pros and cons. Seems like you have to have the mini choked up high in your hand to have the index finger on the button. Once again I really like the look of the mini just need some encouragement. I vape pretty heavy but don't consider myself a chain vaper. I'm guessing with a few batteries any of the provari set ups will work for me. Thanks for the help and reading this ramble. :nun:

Have you considered a VV/VW VAMO (on the right shown as full size)? Works as a full size or mini with an 18650, 18350 or dual 18350's. I'm enjoying mine thoroughly at a fraction of the cost of a pro-vari.
