I have been using a Volt mini (not X2) for about a year now with blank cartos, filling with Johnson Creek VG juices. I want to branch out to a tank-type system, since I'm tired of refilling cartos 3 times per day and the flavor degradation with the filler in the cartos. I have been doing lots of reading on this topic and have yet to find any definitive answers. I ordered two Nano clearos from SI, but they both leak fluid onto the battery, necessitating removing the clearo from the battery every other draw to clean off the top of the battery and blow out the air hole. I have looked into the X2 clearos and the T3, but there are too many reviews about fluid leaking on the battery for me to feel comfortable spending more money experimenting. Does anyone have any recommendations about clearos that don't have these leaking issues?

I dont think any of them are leak proof. Just varring degrees of less likely to leak. Have you considered a carto tank? You would have to make 3 holes in your carts using 100% VG but they will work fine with lots less work. Lots of people like the pro tank or evod but Im just not in to those set ups my self. You are going to have some issues no matter what you use with wicking as VG is so thick but you can do things like remove the top wick in the pro tank. I would say the pro tank is worth a try from what Ive read. You might also get a evod replacment head as people say this helps the pro tank airy draw issue.
I would skip the kanger T3 for now they have been discontinued for a different design so you will not be able to get replacement heads for it before to long.

The Phoenix MUST be filled upside down, or it will pour juice just like that review said. I haven't had any issues, but understand your concerns! My EVOD got stuck on my battery on Friday night! It was a disaster! I love the EVOD, it just took a rubber band, a pair of pliers and a very patient Live Chat Rep from Apollo on the phone to me, to walk me through it! Make sure those threads have zero juice on them! :) I didn't realize there was even any on my threads, until it got stuck! I will buy more EVOD's though!

My mini vivi nova never leaked...until it completely came apart from the bottom! Seriously, leaking clearos, the question should be: which one leaks the least! I love clearos, tho. I am carto-tank challenged.

You are so right. Even with my favorites there is always just a drop of juice on the battery post when time to re-fill. Glad I switched to manual batteries. I would have ruined an auto. :D

These CE3 - 5 Pack 2.4-2.6ohm are my all time favorite juice delivery devices. I have tried a lot of different ones (viva nova, T3, T4 and CE4 (stardust) and go back to these every time.

And I love CE4's and use them every day without a leaking problem. I've used them for a year and the only leaking I've ever had was when I didn't screw the drip tip on tight. So it really is a matter of personal preference.

I recommend a Mini Vivi Nova and an Ego battery. From my experience, this setup will perform well and be very easy to use with very little leaking. Just tip it every so often to make sure the wicks stay wet. The Vivi is a top coil.

Bottom coils like the Kanger T3, EVOD, Protank, etc are very likely to leak because the wick also acts as a constant seal at the bottom of the tank. They are better when you rewick with cotton, but that can be a hassle to get it right when you first start and they still leak from time to time. I currently use only the T3 and EVOD, but I have learned to live with them and since I can rebuild the heads, I may not replace them for quite a while. When I do, I will be moving to the Vivi Nova or something similar.

I also use a carto tank every so often, it seems to be rock solid consistent but I get better flavor from clearomizers.

I have never, ever had any trouble with a Kanger T2. Some have had different experiences, I guess. My experience with the CE series has been bad. I had a CE7 that leaked like a cracked aquarium, but it turned out to be a manufacturing defect that was easily fixed. Since then, no trouble with it. I have a Mini Vivi Nova that vapes great, but now and then just stops working. It hasn't leaked on me, but I'm tired of taking it apart and fooling with it until I can get the contacts to do their job again.

T2s are inexpensive and reliable IMO.

+1. The Vivi Nova is the easiest, best performing and most leak-free clearo I've ever used. I use them (and the full size ones) exclusively now.

One word of caution: Buy the genuine VISION brand Vivi Novas, not a knock-off brand. Some people try to save a couple of bucks by buying a knock-off, and I've heard reports of all sorts of problems. It's not worth the tiny savings. Buy the real thing.
