OMG my mind is spinning! Have been reading, researching, learning, but I cannot figure out what to buy...Please offer any suggestions based on the following:

I currently smoke cherry or peach cigarillos and sometimes Player's Smooth - 5-10 cigs/day, more when out w/friends obviously.

I want an e-cig that is close in size to a cigarette rather than a cigar. Not so concerned about length, but I prefer to have the slimness of a cigarette. If battery life will be a concern, I can order several batteries if you think that's a plan.

I like a good throat burn and hot smoke, however that might make a difference.

I also would prefer a stylish e-cig, preferably black or silver. Not a clunky-cigar thing, and definitely not one that looks like a cigarette.

Price doesn't matter, really. Just would prefer to use a Canadian supplier if possible.

I think I would like to buy a starter kit, then work on separate-parts orders once I have the hang of this down better.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!

The throat hit and heat will be less with the cigarette style, but for a casual smoker it should be ok.

I don't own it personally, but I did try it at a vape meet and my first suggestion would be the Redds kit from happyvaper, it comes with a charging case as well.

Canadian E-cigarette Redds

What I started with and still like is the joyetech 510 stuff, except you'll probably want to replace the tank atomizer with cartomizers and the PCC ( personal charging case ) isn't as nice and sold seperately.

Joyetech Starter Kits

If you want nicotine and lots of options for liquids, you should post in this thread to request the vendors that sell liquids with nicotine; http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ic-supplier-list-via-pm-only-part-2-a-64.html

I'm still pretty new, so take my input with a grain of salt (^ these guys are veterans who really know their stuff!)
But.... I just got an iTaste kit, and I have to say it's pretty cool and full-featured for a starter. It's not really "cigarette-sized" but it is on the more compact size, smart-looking, discreet and classy with the pencap, and boasts some cool features like variable voltage, magnetic very fast changing atomizer heads, passthrough (you can vape while charging), and voltage range suggestion for the attached atty. Also has a cute little puff counter, and the colored LED warns you as your battery gets low. It's a different connection than anything else uses, but with the tiny 501 adapter, you can use the myriad popular 501 atomizers/cartomizers out there as well.

If you go that route, I'd strongly suggest adding a couple of atomizer bodies, heads and extra cartridges so you can change flavors with a snap, and have extra parts *just in case*...

No affiliation, but Vapour Solutions has the kits on sale at the moment, which includes the 510 adapter and a bottle of juice!

Save yourself all the money and just go straight to a Provari.

As much as I love BOTH of my Provaris I still have a hard time recommending a straight in jump to one. This person seems to be a semi casual light smoker, around half a pack per day. Not even sure if they have even tried vaping yet.

As a start I would suggest an eGo Twist and something like a stardust/nova. This can be had on the cheap (~$50) and at least give the person a chance to find out if Vaping is even for them.

If someone is SURE vaping will work for them (have tried a friends device and loved it), Provari is probably the smartest choice at the moment (imho).

Currently sporting a White Mini + Zap combo, filled with some good ol juggy juice.

"Yeah but he want slim small and cig-like :)"

I'm female!! I want something that doesn't look clunky or too much like a pipe.

Never vaped in my life. I don't even know anyone who has. I just want to be done with smoking, but still enjoy that sweet nicotine!

Thanks so much for all your help, you have narrowed my list down considerably...I will check out reveiws based on all your suggestions.

eGo Twist + clearo (Kanger T2, Stardust, Vivi Nova) is probably best to start with. I prefer tanked cartos myself, but I started with clearos and wouldn't recommend cartos to start with for a new vaper. I have 3 twists as well (a 650mAh and 2 1000mAh), and don't feel I need anything bigger. If you want something "girly" looking I know CNF carries pink eGo twists and red stardusts. He's got a kit that is 2 650mAh twists and 2 stardusts + 10mL juice, case and charger for $90. It's overpriced (should be closer to $75 imho), but it's what I would recommend.

My two cents - Ego Twist (650mah) with some 2ml Vivi Nova's. It won't look like a cigarette per se, but it will give better battery life and allow you to adjust the voltage to get the warmth/flavour you want. Both are low maintenance - easy to charge, easy to clean and maintain - and won't draw too much attention while you are vaping.

If you go with the Ego Twist - get at least two so that you can have a spare on hand when you are charging the other.

I was also a 1/2 pack-a-day smoker. I've been vaping for a couple of months now so not exactly a veteran but I've tried a few things. In most situations I love my ego-C battery with a slim black carto and a rounded stainless steel tip-- not just for the flavour hit, but because I think it looks pretty sweet. Maybe it's because I'm a girl, but I do care about these things. :)

HOWEVER, I just picked up an Eigate 808D-1 kit for when I go to places where I'd prefer to be less conspicuous. Mine are black, a bit larger than a cigarette and the kit comes with a cute little charging case. The vape isn't nearly as nice, but it fills a very particular need and I'm looking forward to taking it with me next time I go to the pub.

My friend has a twist and they are pretty great, but maybe overkill for someone just starting out? And, although I enjoy my clearo once in awhile (I get a mellower flavour experience), I wouldn't suggest it to a person who wants to be discrete.

Good for you for taking this step! I was lucky that I had someone doing all of the research for me so I can only imagine how confusing it is in the beginning. Remember that personal preference really counts, here, and everyone is different, so don't be too hard on yourself if you don't find your "forever vape" the first time. That said, I probably would have been quite content to keep going with my ego-C kit alone had my friend not turned me onto some of the other stuff. That we have so many different options is both a blessing and a curse. :)

Good luck and keep us posted!

i say a ego twist too. who cares what it looks like, the main thing is you wont be smoking carcinogenic analogs. when i started i spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on the small battery cig look a likes and they could never satisfy me. ive been vaping for 3 years and i still want a ego twist.now, its more of a hooby too.hahahah colecting PV's and juice.

If you want a cig style PV - Redds
- the PCC makes having a cig style PV very convenient.

If you think that you can handle something a bit larger Ego-T with a "Low resistance" Stardust.
- not actually that big, but should last you the day without having to charge or refill it. get one even if it is only for home use or at work.

I have vaped for over two years, and I still facepalm when people offer newbies more advanced PVs.
no one starting out cares or desires VV mods, not everyone needs vapor coming out of their ears like a steam train.
If she can be content with a cig-style PV, she should be allowed to come to that conclusion herself.

My suggestions are simple and do the job. No need for a complicated gizmo and features she may never use.

Confucious say: "Do not use cannon to kill mosquito."

Good basic simple equipment is never wasted, if the person wants to "go bigger", it either becomes their errand-running or stealth vape, or more exciting yet, it gets PIFed to a new convert.

Confucious also said something about Provaris all the way. I think.
