I'm about to order a vv/vw setup but only because my nautilus shorted on my magneto. I've already posted more than once on this but really seeking help. If I ohm out the nautilus before I insert it on magneto should I be alright? If not will a fuse make a difference or will it still destroy the battery if it shorts out again? The nautilus worked great until it shorted and I don't know how to narrow down the problem if the ohms read fine then put it on I think the problem might be the connection, idk...

I am not sure if I understand what you are trying to say, but anyway, if you get a VV/VW mod, although I don't know what mod you'll get, most, if not all vv/vw mods are protected against shorts, so even if your nautilus is shorted out you'll be alright.
I doubt there is something wrong with your magneto unless you took it apart and something got out of place when you put it back together.
I device like the kick or kick 2 inside a mech mod, will protect you against shorts.

Remove the battery from your magneto.
Using a DMM measure the resistance from the center pin of the 510 connector to the metal body of the magneto. The meter should read open or infinite resistance. if not the problem is with the head of your magneto.
Using a DMM measure the resistance of the nautilus from the center pin of the atomizer to the tank metal base. The meter should read the coil resistance. if not the problem is with the atomizer head of your nautilus tank.
Remove the atomizer head from the nautilus tank.
Using a DMM measure the resistance from the center pin of the atomizer head to the metal body. The meter should read the coil resistance. if not the problem is with the atomizer head of your nautilus tank.
If all tests are good take the nautilus and magneto to a local shop for further testing before attempting to use it. If they find nothing buy a safe fuse for your mod before using it.

Well what I meant was the nautilus read 1.6 on ohm reader, put it away for the night, next day I hit it, first hit was fine, second was hot then third burned my finger on the switch so I ditched my battery. The nautilus was brand new and don't feel like dishin out a ton more $ unless I have to. I'm just looking for suggestions before I try it again and ruin my only other battery or get hurt. I know the nautilus isn't ruined but I figured maybe the atomizer was but still reads 1.6 ohms. Thanks ebates, that's the best answer yet.
I'm going to get a fuse I think, I have an RSST but air hole is too small+no drill=no dice. The rsst works without shorting so I was wondering if there's incompatibility issues between with the nautilus. The ohm/volt reader I have tests the setup as a circuit but not with the two actually together as one, two connection posts, one for atty one for mech. What's weird though is after the short, I dismantled the nautilus and found the atomizer was screwed into the center tube and not bottom like it should, or like how I installed it out of the box. Idk wonder if it didn't thread properly
If the atomizer head was not installed securely it potentially could result in the center pin of the atomizer head coming in contact with the tank base while firing.
Buy and install a fuse on your magneto before trying anything else involving using the nautilus tank.
Buy and install a new atomizer head for your nautilus tank.

That's what I'm gonna do... Ordered a provari mini in the meantime to use while I'm at work with the nautilus and use the rsst and magneto when I'm home chillin. I think I found the problem though, the pin on the 510 connection on the bottom of the nautilus was angled and probably touched the wall of the magneto. Wish someone else had experience with the same setup, I do not think they are compatible without a washer/spacer or possibly attaching the bottom of nautilus to the magneto first, then screwing in The atomizer. When you screw the atomizer in first it pushes the pin out too far to connect and when you screw it on tight to magneto it smooshes the pin to the side touching the wall and shorting. Bummer
Back to the parliaments until the provari arrives though. Shoulda just bought a drill and widened that damn rsst hole. Oh well the provari will be better and hassle free for working and fishing. Assuming the nautilus pin isn't broken. Smh...
2cent fuse is so cheap, well worth it if circumstances such as this may occur. Not that it may help within your situation, but I like to build, test via ohm reader, hit with 2cent fuse, and then use w/o fuse (just in case). I'm not 'new', but I am primarily safe. I'd hate myself If I lose a mod, battery, or anything else. LOL

Thanks man, I will get the fuse but I'm not gonna use the nautilus in that anymore. It scares the hell outta me now and coated my throat and lungs with a nice layer of metal vapor because I inhaled it before it burned my finger.
