I just blew the the atomizer out and shook the bottle well and it is a big improvement.
Another thing I have learned from the board is that you seem to grow into flavors, they all taste strange at first.

Actually, the big thing is smoking dulls your sense of taste. When you quit, it'll start to come back and your tastes will change. I even changed the way I take my coffee. When I smoked, I loaded it up with sweetener and creamer because my sense of taste was so dulled by cigarettes. Don't be surprised if your preferences for vape juices change the longer you go without smoking. I've got one I really liked at first, suddenly just hated it, a few weeks later, liked it again. No idea what that was about. :)

The JC red oak Tennessee cured is about as close to blu as I have found. Domestic is also similar but not as sweet.

Picked up from another vaper on the forum to mix the two. About 2:1 Domestic to Tennessee cured (or there abouts). It's a pretty good combo. TC is a little too sweet for me and Domestic a little too... not sweet at all? They seem to work nicely together though...

Blu uses Johnson Creek Juices if you like the standard tobacco of blue that is domestic from johnson creek. they sell up to 30 ML bottles and also sell blank cartos that are longer then Blu and work great.

I believe blu uses only the PG free juices in their e-cigs

I just ordered the sample of this after reading your post. The 555 from MBV is a little too sweet for my taste, and it looks like the Domestic from JC you suggested fits what I am looking for.

If I end of liking domestic, along with the great advice, I'm all set.

I personally wouldn't use juice from China, no matter how cheap. JMHO

I have been DIYing almost since the beginning, and taste is VERY subjective, but I hear great things about Mt Baker, and the prices are great. USA Made Nicotine Juice, E Juice, E Liquid, Electronic Cigarette Juice I would suggest trying several of the smallest bottles of different tobacco flavors to find what best suits your taste buds. :)

I always live life on a "budget" and try to be frugal. Big believer in trying to save money. With that said, I would stay away from Chinese juices. The juices become extremely smokey towards the end, and you almost do not want to use it. Its the classic case of "you get what you pay for". And you'll end up throwing away the product and end up spending more.

Although the cheap juices really are cheap, I would really advise against them. The taste towards the end is really rough, and i'd recommend paying a little big more for better quality.

And again, this is coming from someone who really likes to budget.

I received my Domestic from JC and I hit paydirt. It taste 95% the same as blu's classic tobacco, maybe a little less sweet, but I can barely tell the difference side by side.

This thread answered al of my questions. So instead of spending $14 every 2 days for refils I can.

Take the old atomizer and remove cap
Shake the bottle of JC Domestic vigorously
Barely stick a toothpick in the filler hole, drip and drop
Let Steep overnight with connector down.
Do not let atomizers get dry and then burned
Blow atomizer into a towel if it gets flooded.

The Domestic is not expensive considering the $12 regular bottle will last a least a few weeks, probably more. And you can buy a new battery online for $10 once a month. I will probably buy a 5 pack of atomizers twice a month.

Added up, I think I can vape comfortable for around $50 a month.

Thanks,
Greg

I found that MBV, while cheap....gums up your wicks and coils. you wind up cleaning and dry burning them with every tankful. They prectically give the juice away. Nobody is cheaper than MBV. If they are delivering good juice for the money they charge, then every body else is overcharging.

Totally agree. While some may like it better, and they are two different flavors, the 555 from MBV tasted like what perfume smells like, and it lacked depth. The Domestic from JC is much richer and authentic tasting. It's similar to comparing coffee. So while it may have just been a bad selection on my part with the 555, spending $4 more on a 15 or 19ml quality e-juice bottle is really not that much more per refill.

Hi Greg. I used a Blu for the first 6 months of vaping and never replaced the battery or the cartridges. Just add a little water to one that is close to empty, and blow blow blow. Let it dry overnight and then top it off with more liquid. I did this about every 2 weeks, and they lasted a really long time; and I do have a tendancy to chain vape, especially at night. The battery still works, 2 years later. I keep it around for a just in case I loose my ego batteries again. Vaping on a budget is easy, just don't hang around here too much

Try maybe a sample bottle of Tennessee Cured from them and mix a little in. I'm convinced "Classic Tobacco" is some mix of those two. I've quit trying to duplicate Blu's CT but got really close at times.

(I'm suspicious the "proprietary blends" JC makes for Blu are just some mildly rejiggered versions of JC juices.)

(But I'm repeating myself ain't I? That "senior moment" stuff? It don't wait until retirement age, it jumps you early.)

lol. Great info, and I chain vape too, but I set it down when it gets hot. I guess all I will need is to buy a new pack of catridges if they go bad, this is really saving money. And as mkbilbo hinted, I believe the Blu natural tobacco is just a blend of a couple, maybe TC and domestic.

What's nice is not worrying about going through 3 everyday. Vaping is now enjoyable again. I am going to stock up in case they ever start regulating or something, but that;s for a different thread. Those $12 bottles go a long, long way. Near enough Nicotine to kill a horse!

Thanks again for the info.

Debcartee's right about keeping 'em wet will make 'em last. I never used water but I never vaped my cartos dry. I was using 510s (still do sometimes) and drip tips on them so it was easier to drip a little now and then as I went to keep them moist. Blu's are kind of small so that'd be harder to do popping the top on and off. I'd say if the carto seems to be "losing flavor", put it in the "refill" bin. I used to set up several fills the night before so I could swap around as needed.

You can get some good life out of a carto if you don't scorch the batting inside. You get that "burnt" taste, it's done for. With a little practice, you'll be able to get some pretty decent life out of 'em.

Hi Greg, I started off with blu too but I got tired of the short battery life and the burnt taste from the cartos. I know you're on a budget but I would highly recommend getting an ego style battery and an evod from fastech the battery will last a lot longer and the evod is a lot easier to fill than the cartos you will also get a lot more flavor from whatever juice you buy . You can get that combo from fastech for well under 20 bucks with free shipping .
