OK... I typed all that into this site...

... and at 150 Watts I get a Heat Flux of 275 mW/mm².
Now when I Change from 22ga to 24ga with the Same 150 Watts, the Heat Flux jumps up to 552 mW/mm². The Heat Flux about Doubles.
This is a Good Example of when you use a Thinner Wire (of the Same Alloy) you can get More "Heat" at the Same Wattage.
And if I go to 26ga Kanthal A1, the Heat Flux goes into the Stratosphere. And you are Probably going to want to Reduce the Wattage else the hit you get will Taste like a Burn Marshmallow.
You Don't need to push More and More watts to get "More". And many times it is Easier to just use a Build with a Thinner Wire.
I Think what you are seeing is a Slow "Ramp-Up". As well as a Slow "Ramp-Down".
It takes Time to Heat Up a Thick wire. And it takes Time for a Hot Thick wire to Cool Down.
Another Reason there is kinda a Limit to How Thick of a Wire people will use. And 22ga Kanthal A1 is a Thick Wire.
There simply aren't any batteries that can safely be vaped that high on the Alien. 200w will draw 38 amps per battery and the highest rated batteries (LG hb2/4/6) have vs cdr of 30 amps. The highest you should go with those is 155w.

I don't think cotton will wick fast enough. Besides, it'll ignite. Now, a Scottish roll of asbestos might be the preferred wick.

Got me some 400 mil now...stripped off the insulator and plugged it into three phase 480v/30a, made a 2ft diameter coil, 6 wraps 10000ohms, you should see the clouds.
I wicked it with ultem fiber. Strange thing though, once I fire it up, metal things fly towards me.

the black with gold plating is purdy! i could have setup the one quad build in it, but the transformer has more space, despite being only 22mm.
