Black Friday I bought a Bahia clone and AGT rba. I have tried several builds and I just cannot get this working well. If anyone could direct me to a good thread or give tips. I have a as mesh wick in there. Is it supposed to be same size diameter as wick hole? is it supposed to be tight rolled or loose?

Only thing I have is 28g kanthal. The top coil and leg always get hot and glow. I ued smaller g wire that came with it and it was worse for hot leg. I just don't think it is wicking well. Can't holds the button longer than 2 seconds without the th and flavor being like eagles claws in my throat.

I have a kayfun and protanks as well. I rebuild those with 1-1.2ohm micros and cotton and really like. There a way to just use micros and cotton In this? I tried and it just burns up the cotton. Too far to wick I guess.

At this point its just sheer determination and stubbornness that I need to get this AGT working lol. Fit great on the Bagua and I really want to use it. Have stayed away from genesis style just for this reason. Got the clone and AGT for $35 total, so its not the money loss. The Bagua even has magnets in the switch :).

That is a difficult one to build, or so I have heard. I would suggest going with a 4/3 wrap on it for starters to get down the coil wrapping. Second, you should invest in some SS rope wicks. You can get them from Kidney puncher and wrap the top part of the wick, (between rope and wire), with 400 or 500 SS mesh. For some reason the rope and mesh combo seem to wick exceptionally well.

I watched PBusardo's videos a few times and helped a lot in learning how to build my RBA's. http:/..................../wordpress/2013/03/31/all-about-the-agas/

Messed with it some more last night, still couldn't get it wicking right. When I roll the mesh, is it supposed to be kind of loose and hollow like a straw or am I trying to roll up as much as I can tightly and still be able to fit it in the wick hole?

I did watch a couple of the recommended videos. He was building aga-t's. This AGT has a really small wick hole. He was rolling up 2 to 2 1/2 inches of mesh to put in his. Don't think this wick hole would accept that.

It is in concept only... I have an RSST and an Ikarus 2.1 hybrid myself. His videos were very useful in helping me to understand the basics of setting up a genny. The wick holes on my genny's are different sizes compared to each other also. It is all trial and error until you get it down, but don't be discouraged, it will happen... Do you have a plug in the fill hole? That sometimes plays a big part in the wicking. I had to take leave mine out when using just the mesh. I have read some people prefer a loose roll, (straw type), as opposed to a tight roll and visa-versa... I think it depends sometimes on what % your liquid is. Not real sure, but think that is the right reasoning... I could never get it completely rolled super tight and it seemed to have a hole in it like a straw, but you had to really look very closely to see that. I do know that the wick I used in my RSST would fit very snug in the Ikarus... I think the wick for the RSST was a 45mm x 45mm piece that I rolled and it worked, but the Ikarus was more like a 40mm x 40mm or even smaller. I have since moved on to a SS rope wick on both setups with SS mesh between the coil and the rope. That has been working better than just the mesh setup. I am able to vape it with the fill hole plug in now also.

I will try with the fill screw out. Just seems like after about 2 seconds of firing the wick goes dry and the top coil(s) start to glow. So no long hits or chain hits and that is no good for me. Using a 50/50 ratio in there now. Think I should try thinning?

No wick has worked well yet tight or straw-like. Would a hardware store carry the ss wire/cable? I suppose I would need to boil the heck out it to rid it of any prodution oils or contaminants?

Sorry didnt see that u don't have the aga t2. don't think this would work on that one as a U wick but ss cable works great as a single coil with a piece of 400 mesh on top under the coil.

I rolled mine fairly snug, tested to make sure it would fit down the wick hole, held it with some needle nose pliers, held in the stove flame and got the entire thing to glow red 3x (a torch only seems to spot heat it, on the flame on the stove the whole thing glows)

My last build I used 2x 32 gauge strands, son held one end with some pliers, other end I closed in the chuck on the power drill, slowly spun it and twisted the wire like aircraft safety wire. Got a 3/32 drill bit that would fit down wick hole, wrapped 6 wraps around it, put in hole, attacked bottom wire to screw on deck, pulled the wire on upper deck, tightened down the nut on the center pin. gently took out drillbit (actually had to spin it to get it past the corkscrew cut in drillbit). The ohms are 2.0 with no wick...did a wire heat 4x times until the wire glowed red all the way thru the coil, then gently slid/poked/prodded the wick thru the coil down into the wick hole. Then used a sewing pins to get the coil wraps even on the wick...ohms read 1.9.

The thing hits like a freight train now...even at 8 watts with a kick, funny thing is...the red glowing wire between the wick and center pin nut is gone...it doesn't glow red anymore

Here is a TON of info on the genesis type RBA

Your metal wicks need hats. If the cotton brain thing is still working, keep it up, cotton tastes good. However, the only way I've gotten my AGT to function at a somewhat satisfying level is with SS rope and an ekowool hat. I still have to tilt the thing and it struggles a bit trying to keep up with a hearty chain vape session but the wool does a fair job of keeping the coils saturated and allows for a coil diameter significantly larger than the that of the wick hole. And that larger coil size lets me use fatter wire like 0.8mm ribbon and still get enough ohms not to fry a 14500 or my face.

Sometimes hardware stores sell "picture hanging wire" that is not galvanized. Whether it is dangerous to vape or not, I can't really say for certain, I only used it for about two days until the "safe" stuff arrived from KidneyPuncher. I'm not dead, so either I got lucky or it wasn't too terribly awful.

Yeah, I looked at picture wire and this other style for hanging mirrors. Unfortunately, it was all either galvanized or coated.

I figured out that if I put my thumb over the air hole and suck a bit, creating a vacuum in the air chamber, the cotton gets really saturated and vapes awesome. Kind of like a bottom feeder without squeezing a bottle :p.

I never thought of that.....all the times I tried to build this thing with cotton, then settling for an only somewhat satisfying SS build. I am now unpacking my at-work tool kit preparing to take another run at this thing. Thank you, sir.
