Please Help With Premium Cartos

I ordered a bunch of premium cartos from V4L last week and they all(more than 1/2) seem to be duds. They spit and sputter off and on creating no vapor and then it taste like burnt plastic. I took the end cap off and saw that they have a barrel shaped (plastic?) thing that looks like it should be down inside holding the atomizer in or straight. Well these cartos have that plastic barrel shaped thing at the top of the atomizer where it curves and I think that is what is burning giving me the burnt plastic taste. I don't know if I should return all of these? Or is there an easy fix? I am sick about it because 1. I wasted alot of juice trying to get 1 that works and 2. I got these to try some flavors with and now they have my Salem menthol in them. Not sure if I should return or something that is easy to fix. As always, any input is appreciated.

My guess is sometimes you are over filling and sometimes under filling. If you get a burnt taste its because there is not enough juice in the carto....or because you have been puffing on it until it gets super hot for a long time. The thing you see sticking out actually protects the batting from the heat of the atty. It is where it is supposed to be.

When its "sputtering" is over full. You can put a piece of paper towel in the top mouth end of the carto to absorb a little of the excess juice...or blow a little out through the batt end (mouth on mouth end). If its just sputtering and not getting in your mouth you may want to puff on it a bit and it should burn off the excess juice and start vaping within the first 10 puffs (or something like that).

Thanks. I guess that I did not notice that plastic barrel shaped thing on the atomizer on the prefilled. I am filling with a few drops as I go and pretty sure I didn't overfill. I use the condom method with about 10 drops juice, Taryn spin and then 3 or 4 more drops. I have had the juice in the mouth which is not pleasant so I try really hard to not overfill. I think that there is just not enough of a connection with the carto. I saw another member here say to turn bat end of carto with needle nose pliers 1/4 turn. I will try that. Even the few that have worked taste like I am vaping plastic. I will try and figure it out. Thanks.

I use 20 drops minimum, closer to 30 with the Taryn spin. Sounds like you do not have enough juice in those.

Ok Maybe I am so paranoid of the juice in the mouth (yuck) that I am underfilling. Let me try that.

Really I am guessing on the number of drops. I fill cap 1/2 way, taryn spin and then 3-4 drops. I will be so glad when I finally get this all down pat.

Also don't be afraid to blow the carts out after refilling. It does help

This technique works great for me:

1. Remove the cap from a new Carto, slowly pour about 30 drops in
2. With a rubber sleeve on the battery end, do a taryn spin
3. Top up with more juice and do another spin if needed (if the cotton still looks too dry)
4. Remove the rubber sleeve from the battery end and clean off the excess juice
5. Gently blow into the battery end for a few seconds to remove excess liquid
6. Reinsert the Cap and give it a final clean

With a bit of practice, this technique is very reliable.

As for the atomizer wire, carefully move it into the center if its too close to the wall.

Usually the wire position is ok in a new carto, but I've seen a few where the wire is almost touching the wall.

i use 35-40 drops on coolcarts and 30-35 on premiums. the premiums go through juice faster, so make sure you keep them wet.

Ok. 3 Major problems with the cartos, Me, Myself and I! I can't believe how much these cartos hold!! I was underfilling them and by the time I filled them right my tastebuds were so burnt out from doing it wrong that they still tasted bad. Thank you so much for the tip on how to fill them. It really works well. I have not had juice in my mouth and have not had the mess of the condom fill since you guys told me a better way to fill. Thank you all so much!

they probably still taste bad because of when you were vaping them when they were to dry. once they burn up, they are junk, and the bad taste wont go away.

I wondered about that but I have reused them today and filled them correctly first. They taste good. I realy was not getting a burnt plastic taste yesterday it was just a plastic taste. I know what you mean about the burnt cartos never tasting right again. I burned plenty of them up when I first started and was even more clueless than I am now.

With a bit of practice, you can refill each carto in about 30 seconds.

Using a Sleeve with the small rounded notch in the center helps to keep the juice in the Carto while spinning.
