Good evening! I have been using a kanger protank 3 and joyetech ego c twist batteries. I am looking for lots more clouds but not hot hits. I was looking at the joyetech evic vtc mini but worry I am not smart enough to use it. I am very intimidated by the astronomical selection out there. You guys really helped when I began a few years ago and would be so greatfull for any help you can give me. Sincere thanks!

If you're just looking for more battery capacity than the Twist, absolutely nothing wrong or overly-complicated with the VTC Mini. You can continue using your Protank with it - just leave the VTC in Power mode. I'm betting that you'd find somewhere in the 10W range a comparable experience to the Twist.
I see that @HauntedMyst has recommended the Subox, which is also a good comparable choice.

thanks! Do I have to change the atomizer/coil type and size on my protank 3 to use with the vtc mini?

The Subox is made by Kanger. You can find them online in the $50 range.

No,the Protank uses standard 510 threads that will go right on the Subox or the VTC Mini. Twists are ~4volt units, so the 10W range in Power mode should get you in the same ballpark on the Protank, assuming the coil is in the 1.6-1.8Ω range.

Yeah, I'm just not a big fan of the Tron tank for some reason. Not that there's anything wrong with it operationally, but viewing the liquid level in it is.. bothersome.

You have old man eyes, like me?
That EGO ONE tank is even worse
