Please, please help me

I am not a newbie. At least, not from the average definition. I have been vapong for about 3 years now and I have done it all pretty much. RBAs, protanks, mods, Pena, disposables, you name it over probably vaped it. But no matter what I seem to do, I ALWAYS get a burnt taste, always. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Everything I have ever tried ends up with a burnt or bland taste at some point and I can't take it anymore. I have a nautilus coming in next Monday and that is pretty much my last hope for a good gaping experience. Does anybody have any advice at all? For example, I'm running 2 80/20 juices right now. One in a minipro, one in a protank 3. Minipro comes out at 2.5 ohms so I set it at 4.0V. Burnt as heck. The other one is at 2.1 ohms so I leave it at 3.8V. Burnt again. I just quit cigarettes for the last time officially so I really need this vaping thing to work for me, please please help

Welcome to the forums, from reading your post. I assume your using 80vg and 20pg correct? Try adding a couple drops of water to the tank to thin out the juice for your Protank and mini. I run my own built coils in mine and usually run 50/50 or 70/30 and don't have a problem. I run most at 3.8-4.0v but I like a cooler vape. If you get a burnt taste like above said turn down the volts to see if it gets better. Last when you prime the tanks, take a few u power puffs to make sure the wicks are saturated.

I found Protanks could not wick well enough even for my 50/50 liquid.
But I found a fix that works for me - and even though I've got a bunch of "higher end" gear, I still keep a Mini or PTank on a spinner for quick walk-around vapes. And it's an EASY fix - I hope it works for you.

Take a new coil, and using tweezers, pull about 2 single strands of that silica wick out, carefully leaving the rest in place.
You can brush the rest around a bit, sort of fluffing it so there's not an open hole where the wick you removed was...

That's it.

It's "overwicked" the way it comes, and liquid can't get to the coil easily enough. Removing a little may let it flow quicker, and eliminate the dry hits.

Good luck!!

theres a couple of things that could be wrong.

1) your coils are touching the walls of your atomizer:
open up your tank, (assuming you have a manufactured coil)
pull off the top piece (should pop off)
look inside to see of the wicking is burnt (if so just buy a replacement)
if the coils are touching the walls of your atomizer you can take a small screwdricer/pin and adjust them, but make sure the coils dont touch eachother

2) your not getting juice to your coils
thick juice (add a tiny bit of water to the juice)
fighting gravity! (dont leave it on its side and then smoke it! make sure your wick is fully saturated before you vape)
Blockage (sometimes tobacco shreads can get into your tank and block your juice holes if you have a wickless system)

Im tired, so ill finish this list later lol

to ecf Lukas Hans Basham. Glad to have you here. Big congrats on the vaping. I think it is awesome. I bet you will be very happy with the Nautilus. I have read lots of good things about them. And if you are having problems, there is always someone here that can help. I know because I need lots of help when I began. Sounds like maybe you juice is thick and needs to be thinned out a bit. You can do that with distilled water or PGA (Pure Grain Alcohol). So many wonderful people here. Good luck to you and have fun. Look forward to reading more about you.

I have a nautilus mini, with 1.8ohm coils and use 3.8V. I don't get a burnt taste. Something that is important is that with high VG juices, it's hard to wick. Priming your coil is important. With a new BVC coil, put a few drops directly on the coil, then let the tank sit for a while after you fill it up. With my high VG juice, I get a nasty flavor for a little while, then it's fine. Using a lower VG juice I don't have that issue.

Buying flavored juices is a serious ripoff. I just bought 250ML 6mg ejuice for $13. That's over a month's supply for me.

All the more reason to read up on some DIY. So very easy to make your own. I just made 350mls of unflavored and probably only had about $6 dollars in it. And on top of it all. . . it is fun to do. Lots of great threads on DIY here if you are interested.

Okay, update.

1. Turning down the voltage seriously improved the experience

2. Protank and minipro don't wick well, you guys were correct

3. Adding drops of water helped a lot as well

4. I probably fired my coils before they were completely saturated, my bad

5. I was mostly aggravated last night because I bought some bargain juice that said it had 12mg nicotine. I found out today that it actually has 0mg so I've been deprived and aggrivated because of it

6. Nautilus mini is a total beast. Amazing vapor production, airflow is amazing, very impressed

7. Cosmic Fog Church and the Mini go together like peanut butter and jelly

8. Thank you all for the advice!:) keep calm and vape on

This is good advice. I would encourage you to also watch tutorials on Youtube if possible. Youtube helped me tremendously when I was learning how to build.

I'm glad after 3 years of burnt taste and you haven't gone back to regular cigs.
