Hey ECF.
I'm looking to get into rebuildables. Well. Not looking. I'm going to start. I've got all kinds of kanthal on its way. Varying gauges. So I can build whatever.

What I'm looking for. And the answers are much harder to find searching on my own.
An rda that's mouth to lung friendly.
I'm more a flavor chaser. But i like clouds too. I'd like a dual purpose if at all possible.

If this helps.
My draws are fairly long. Involving more than one pull. Mouth. Mouth to lung. Exhale through nose while filling mouth again. Mouth to lung.
Make any sense? Lol
But I also lung hit when the urge arises.

Any RDAs out there for me? Or should I just get and rba and forget about dripping?

Thanks I'm advance.

chances are a good rda will change how you take your pulls. you get *MUCH* more vapor from rdas than most other options.

ive tried my hand at quite a few rdas.. ones that i can recommend...

the magma.. not a big cloud producer, but a wonderful flavor maker, and has a deeeeep well so you don't have to drip as often

darkhorse.. incredible airflow.. huge clouds.. good taste..

plume veil... great vapor great taste..

but rta's are a good option as well.. im really enjoying the rba on the new sub tank mini...

I'm Liking my Hobo3, easy to build, AFC adjustable from restricted lung hits to ZERO.. this is the second dripper I have used, and I got it because came with bottom feed pin. I like it but my Kayfun give better flavor so far. Only had the atty 10 days so still learning, how to build it to get what I want.

Really it's going to come to how you want to build and type of builds. As any atty with adjustable air should be able to shut down enough for MTL hits.. BUT, you will want a smaller CHAMBER for flavor and better MTL hits

I second the hobo v3.1, but the price tag may scare you away at $90. I have one, perfect for learning how to build with its two post design. The positive pin can be rotated around the deck to accommodate whatever your build is. Flavor and clouds are great off of it.

I'd also say look into the FlightShop MiniCat RDA. I just caught wind of it like last week, it's fairly new on the market. Bottom afc similar to a standard Kennedy and 2 side afc holes on each side similar to a tugboat v2. But the deck & everything is set up like a derringer, with the inner sidewall. It's pretty interesting.

The drip tip also has a honeycomb for anti-spitback
And btw: you're going to get tons of magma suggestions.

I would suggest derringer, but for starters, it's a bit too small and you'll get a heckload of spitbacks if you go high power (above 35W). Mine is a clone from FT, it's $6.07, worth a try? BTW it's both a flavour and cloud RDA.

For flavour you could consider veritas, but now it's likely you could only find a clone. The airflow is rather constricted and oh, veritas is not newbie rebuilder friendly.

Actually the type of draws you take will decide what kind of coils you should build and not quite much the RDA you should get, get a decent and basic RDA and the rest is up to your coils. By basic I mean the standard three post and not the intricately structured veritas.

ADD: check this one out
$7.88 The Stumpy Styled RDA Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - stainless steel / 22mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

You'll probably find it much easier to build than derringer (quite small) and deringer is already easy enough.

Well irrevelant info:
For the mouth to lung, half exhale and then mouth to lung again kind of inhale, I find that a vertical mid size (not micro not macro) coils at abour 20W does the trick. If you want clouds from the build, quad the vetical coils and make each coil about 15W, but then wicking them would be a real pain. Wick it so that the bottom part frays and touch the juice well wide, and the top, fray it and lay it on the posts. So imagine wicking quads....... They aren't cloud builds frankly, vertical builds are inclined towards flavour builds. Dual vertical on the derringer with one pair or two pair of holes open is quite flavourful; it beats parallels sometimes, it also beats my 30 gauge twisted paralled with 28 gauge micro coil.

I've got a mutation v4 and a velocity, I'd recommend the Velocity as its a great all-around RDA. Easy to build on with lots of room, don't have to worry about bottom airflow leaking. The only thing is it can be a little bit tricky to build on the vertical posts, but if you're not used to building on horizontal ones anyways it shouldn't be a big deal.

Here's my current build on my derringer clone

Double vertical, 26 macro

Here is what I meant by fraying the wick
P_20150909_143651_HDR.jpg
Make a small gap between the two coils to boost the flavour, it might choke if you're not used to it

ADD: vetical builds on smaller RDAs usually will have little to no spitbacks.

Could you get away with putting two more coils on the other side so your kicking four at a time ?

I have quite a few drippers but my favorite are fully glass tops. Deadmodz makes an awesome RDA that's fully glass on the top. Awesome air flow on both sides. It's dual for 2 coil builds. The air holes are huge and cut out in the glass. I bought 2 of these. I've been very happy with these.
