A trick that worked for me when I used to get cravings was to picture myself getting the cigarettes, opening the pack, taking out a cigarette, putting it in my mouth, lighting it, and then inhaling. Visualizing that last part seemed to end the craving because the taste that came to mind was so unpleasant, especially compared to the taste of vaping.

Don't know if it will work for you, but thought I'd share just in case.

After I had been vaping for about 2 mos, I found an old pack of cigs in my truck. I didn't really have an urge to smoke one but thought, what the heck, I'll see what it's like. With one puff I went into an extreme coughing fit. Still, I took another, smaller, puff and had a light coughing fit. And, you're right, the taste was awful. I'm no longer curious at all and I think it would be difficult to ever be forced to take another drag off a cigarette.

Point is, if you really get the urge, bum one off someone (don't invest in a whole pack) and take a drag. I think you'll be free from the urge to ever do so again.

As a gentle (and somewhat entertaining) reminder, you might take a look at this video. It's a video that I just posted yesterday but I think it makes a good point without being horrific or preachy.

I don't know why, but I'm dying for a cigarette today O_O
I just went out and when I passed the convenience store I felt a magnetic pull to go buy some, I managed not to but boy was it tough. I keep contemplating going back out to get some so I decided to post here instead and I'm vaping like crazy :) I know the cigarette won't taste good anyways, *sigh*
Someone please slap me on the wrist and talk some sense into me!

Hello there sweetmeat!

What you need is a good
Motivation that you can relate to immediately!
Go to the mall, shop and make a Wish List!
Start putting your Would've been for cigarette money in a cookie-jar account.
Then go back to the mall and spend it all on YOU!

HAPPY :vapor: VAPING!

i was going to post pretty close to exactly ^that^, but was afraid to, lol...

not only did i obsess about cigarettes, but like another poster mentioned, they used to invade my dreams -- i'd constantly dream that i'd "fallen off the wagon" by having a cigarette, and felt horribly guilty upon waking up. then, about 2 mos ago, i finally decided to just bum one off a friend to see if they were as "fabulous" as my crazy brain was telling me -- took 3 drags -- it tasted awful and made me feel awful...but i don't feel guilty about having done so, i haven't touched one since, i no longer have the urge to buy them, and i haven't dreamed about smoking ever since! :)

I'm afraid to smoke a cig. I'm 95% sure I wouldn't hate it like you guys are saying. More likely, I'd smoke the rest of that pack.

I always enjoyed smoking. My lungs were not killing me. I don't have cancer or anything similar.

But I don't want to go back to smoking, and I have 0 faith that if I took a puff or two, I'd hate it the way you guys suggest.
