I just tried out the blue foam mod as my first cart mod for the 510.

Made it wide enough to cover the entire cart at the top, and tapered it to the bottom slightly. So far, so GOOD. Wicks perfect every time (I get the "...." sound, as I like to call it... that's the same way it sounds when I drip). Great vapor every time after about 20 puffs.

I washed it with soap (and tap water... is this gonna screw up my atty?) prior, and I think I didn't wash it out completely, because it does taste a little strange (soapy, not like plastic).... heh. Gave it a good rinsing and dried with a paper towel, but left it a bit moist. Still, it tastes a little funky, so I'm gonna wash it out again after I get finished with it.

I probably got about 15 drops in it before it stopped absorbing. I had the foam in the cart before I added juice.

I just took the filter off a new analog cig and cut it down and pushed it into my 510 cart and it works like a dream. seems better the the PTB mod.

Will keep testing it.

I'd be carefull with that.. One time i used the inside of a premier brand "Light" filter and i felt very strange after a couple of puffs. I knew it was'nt good and must of had somehting in it that leetched into the juice.. or it was some of it burning near the atty bridge.

Anyways, it seemed that my motor fuctions was effected by it alot.. Took a few hours before i felt better. Never touched it again.

May just be the brand though.. you can buy pre rolled empty tubes for filling your own tobacco. a box will have 200 tubes. So it would be cheap to do if it was safe. Though i doubt it can hold a candle to the blue foam.

I would not think the analog filter could do much better than polyfill. If you take a filter out and kinda tear it apart (I have, out of curiosity), they are almost the same thing.

Blue foam FTW. Mine has been leaking after about 4 refills, though. Think I might need to take it out and fluff it up a bit.

Pretty new to this, (eleven days actually), but I've been trying different things I've read here. For now, I'm using the blue foam with a small tube (from cotton swab) alongside. I hadn't thought about the actual cigarette filters, since I used to make my own, I actually have some on hand, gonna try that as well. I appreciate all the good advice here, it's made my transition to vaping vrr smooth ;

cigarette filters last the longest for me.

I've tried straw/poly, pyramid tea bags and I ended up buying 200 packs of premier filter tips online. the bag cost me 2.50USD. top sells large bags also, but I couldn't get a better price for the tops brand.

Depending on the cart i'm using IE 510, 901 etc I just strip off some of the filter to fit. No stray fibers or anything like and its so easy.

My carts last almost double the time straw/poly lasted for me. I no longer get the poly burn taste and the wicking is amazing.

I've been using BFM for a couple of months and was getting tired of the inconsistent vaping...sometimes great and sometimes mouth full of juice or burnt taste.

Read your post the other day and ran over to cvs and picked up box of Top filler tubes. I have been using the filters for 2 days now in (4) 510's in different flavors - TW Mentholyptus, Halo, Virginia, and Atomic Cinnicide.
No leaking. No burnt taste. Top off easily. Lasts long. Draws beautifully.
Huge Thank You for this simple way of great, consistent vaping. :D

Ok, I just did another test video. What I was testing was how many drops I could get in an empty Brass 'Rose' screen mod and an FRF PTB mod. In an earlier test I found out that I was able to top off a Brass Rose with 15 drops so I also wanted to include in this test how many drops it would take to top off an FRF PTB mod.

I am able to get 20 drops into an empty 510 round tip cart. That said what I found was I could get 19 drops in a new FRF PTB and a new Brass Rose mode. I also found that I was able to top off an FRF PTB mod with 15 drops. So, just speaking of capacity, the FRF PTB and the Brass Rose are the same. Again, this is just from one experiment. There are other factors such as type of juice and droppers, I guess, but I tried to make those as consistent (as I was willing to)

All this being said, I would not necessarily put that many drops in a cart especially when topping off. When Im topping off I am usually not in a position to blow out my atty. I really dont even care how many drops Im topping off with. I am usually leaving the house or leaving the office for an hour or so and dont what to take everything but I dont want to run out of juice. So I would grab a battery out of the PCC and top off by touching the dropper head on the edge of whatever material is in the cart that day and squeeze until I see it pooling, then use the bottle to suck some juice back out.

The times I would use that much juice in a cart is if I have a minute to blow out the atty. That way I know that the atty gets some juice and I dont flood it or get some juice in my mouth.

Rhoneil,
Do you have a vid showing how you made those rose cart fillers?

Thanks!

The longest lasting cart mod hands down is the one I just came up with using an 801 http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/73384-ultimate-mod-3ml-juice-tank-801-a.html that holds 3ml, 2 PTB's and works extremely well.

I'm surprised at the disinterest in it in this forum considering how well it works.

I'm using it on all 3 of my PV's now, nothing else produces as much vapor and keeps me vaping for 4-7 hours without a refill and without leaking all over.

No matter what you fill your cart with you're still stuck with the original capacity.

The extra length in the modded 801 on the top is all juice.
