Hey guys and gals.
My wife purchase a Plume Veil clone for me for Christmas and I'm having difficulty building a coil that will let it live up to its name. I'm wondering what others are using on theirs and how it's performing. I'm looking for a dense vape with great flavor and clouds. Please include the specs in your build and pictures if possible (you know you want to show it off). At the moment I'm limited to 28 and 32ga kanthal.
Thanks everyone.

When I was using my Plume Veil a lot I was doing single and dual dual parallel builds. Try a single coil, dual parallel build with about 8 to 10 wraps. That will put your build around .7 to 1 ohm.

I don't know what kind of mod you're using. If you have a mech mod you want to go for .5 to 1 ohm range. If you have a regulated mod you can build above 1 ohm and still get good flavor and clouds. I personally was actually disappointed in my Plume for clouds. The flavor is pretty good but it doesn't produce the clouds like I thought it would. Steam-engine.com is what I use to figure out what coils I'm going to build. Click on the button that says advance and that way you can see the surface area of your coils. You want a lot of surface area without the heat capacity (time for coils to heat up) getting too high. I really hope this helps you out a little bit.

I've had some time to play with my PV lately, and it's been living up to the name!

0.441 ohms, 26ga, 2mm inner diameter, coils practically shorting out on the top as they're so close to the air hole. Judging by the pic and my memory, it was an 8/7 wrap.

Wicked with rayon, like always. A little goes a long way! Just a nice simple contact coil, incredibly dense, cool vapor. Best build near 0.5 I've ever had.

I am having trouble getting my Plume Veil to live up to the hype too. I have tried several different coils and it doesn't seem to change. My current build is 28AWG 6 wraps around a 2.4mm screwdriver. Two coils added up to 0.06ohm. Higher than I was aiming. I believe part of my problem is that mine has the gold deck with the ridiculously short positive screw (came from FT). So I will eventually order a new one from 101 Vape. :2c:

.06 is pretty low. I hope you are being safe. As for it not living up to its name, I built many coils for mine and it wasn't until I took a previous posters advice and built the dual parallels for it. Flavor and vapor production drastically improved. You may start with a build similar to that and adjust to reach your sweet spot.

Dual parallels are great. Or twisted kanthal

I hope you misplaced a 0 and meant 0.6Ω?

Why are they called parallel as apposed to duels? Parallel has my brain thinking either parallel or series circuit. I feel like I am missing the obvious

When wrapping the coil you will have two different strands of wire parallel to each other. You may have to zoom in to the picture to see but notice each lead contains two wires side by side.

 I knew that...talk about a brain fart...

Now, a serious question, what makes the single 10 wrap better/worse/different than a parallel 5 wrap? I will try it, just wondering what to expect.

You guys do know that instead of using holes 1-2 for one coil, and 3-4 for the other one, you can use holes 1-3 and 2-4 which gives you a bit more room and centers the coils over the wells a little better, right?

Basically you take a strand of kanthal. Fold it in half and wrap it evenly. Giving you basically 2 coils in 1 coil which cuts the resistance in half.

I currently have my plume veil clone with a dual coil build 8 wraps each of 29 gauge and total of 1Ω.

Using it between 25-35 watts.

Im using a chuff style drip tip which is more open.

With the top that came with it you put it on different ways depending on if your using one coil or two - one way blocks one of the air slots on the side and the other way keeps both open.

I used to be compulsive about centering the coils. It's caused, in the PV, needlessly long legs but didn't really provide any benefits. I was worried about the lack of room for a tail near the edge, but rayon's a beast. Also mines the v1 clone, so the juice well is... Basically just the deck itself.

Every other build I've done has been meticulously centered, yet this one's been the best. Beats me, but I'll keep rocking this one.
