Hi guys, got another question for you. I just recently purchased a plume veil v 1.5 with a wide bore tip and am vaping on Ben johnson's Cream flavor. The problem is it's causing me to cough violently every time I inhale. :( my question is, is it supposed to do that or is it the juice? I do drink lots of water while vaping so I know my throat isn't dry, so what's the deal?

It shouldn't make you cough - the plume is actually the smoothest RDA I own.

Is this your first rebuildable? What are you putting the plume veil on, and what's the resistance? Nic and PG level of juice might be helpful, but if it's your first rebuildable....

I've found that you want the coils extremely close to the air holes and slightly more elevated than them, in order to get a smooth hit

Also, if you don't have the screws tight enough, you could get a hot leg that will give you harsh burnt taste.

How does it taste? That's the first key to sorting out issues like this (other than knowing what your resistance is, and doing a test burn with the head open so you can see that the coils are heating evenly).

If a very small "sip" still tastes harsh, then you're probably burning your juice. If a small sip tastes fine, it could certainly be the amount of PG, or the nic strength, or perhaps you're just not used to the larger amounts of vapor you can get from a dripper.

I'm not sure about the ohms, as the shop I frequent built it for me lol. Im running it on a turtle ship v2 with dual 26g coils. Technically, no it's not my first rebuildable as I started with a kayf in lite and rebuilt it numerous times, but never had a problem with coughing.

You really need to know the ohms of your coils.

You said you were using a wide bore tip on the Plume Veil, are you direct lung inhaling?

Another question for you all, im using a 26g wire on a plume veil rba. My question is how high of an ohm can i make it before its too dangerous? I vape it pretty much every day and right now its mostly micro coils but id like to go a little bigger (makes getting the cotton go through easier). I usually do about six wraps, sometimes 7 but never more than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

hmmm new to RBA's?
first thing to do is get an ohm meter!
the part to worry about is how low the resistance can go before it becomes an issue...
know what battery you have
learn ohms law
and dont go below .25 ohms ( good safety factor)
Read Baditudes blog on batteries
ask all the questions you can....
be Safe
and when ever you have someone build a coil for you, ask them what the ohms are... and have them use a ohm meter to verify it...

is .20 the highest one would take it? i saw a youtube video done by a guy who was doing coil building and he was talking about the different gauges of wire and he said that the 26 usually gets about .75 omhs? is that normal?

That vct4 is a 30a continuous battery.
Most people use only 80% or so of the available max amperage to leave as a safety buffer
.20 ohm in that case would be about as high as most would be comfortable taking it.

As far as 26g wire, the ohms it reads out at depend on the amount of wraps, inside diameter of your coil, and whether it's single/dual/parallel/twisted, etc.
I really suggest you grab yourself a meter, and visit a site like SteamEngine
