PM folders? How do I use them?

Maybe somebody can clue me in on this-

I have some PMs in my Inbox. I've read them and want to move them out of the Inbox and into a different folder. So I created a new folder called "Read" to store my read messages (using the "Edit Folders" link in the left sidebar under Private Messages).

But when I select the checkboxes next to the messages and click the "Move to folder..." dropdown, I don't see the folder I created.

So what's the point of being able to create folders if there's no way to move messages into them? Do messages just live in your Inbox until you delete them?

Or and I just totally missing something here?

Birdy, after you create the folder, do you see it in your dropdown box at the top?

Yes, my created folder shows up in all the dropdowns it should except for the only one I need it to: "Selected Messages: Move to folder..."

All I have are the options to delete, mark as read/unread, or download.
Should I be seeing my created folders in that particular dropdown?

I'll report/forward this to the techteam to investigate......

Yes, thanks.

I opened a folder called it saved.

Opened my messages ticked the first 2 .

Scrolled down to the bottom & drop down menu select move to folder.

Page opens with header "Move Private Messages"
Please select a destination folder for the items that you wish to move.
Folder Name:Saved 0 messages.
Click on move items button and it saves the 2 messages in the folder.

Just did it again and ....
Folder Name:Saved 2 messages
Now have 4 saved.

when you are on the PM page you dont get the folders option you need to select the Move to folder and go to button after you tick the messages you want saved.

The folder option is on the next page.

Ah! Ok, this solved it. Thank you.

I didn't realize that "Move to folder..." was actually a selectable option. I thought it was a description of options available in the dropdown menu.

It's pretty standard to have the default label of a dropdown menu be an instruction, not an option. So I was interpreting it as
"Choose one of the following:"

 dur.

thanks again Keef
