I bought a Black and Decker Pocket Power on a deal site last year sometime, and I never knew what I was going to use it for. It was too good of a deal to pass up at the time! LOL! Well I think I've got it! I will use it for my USB passthru! It will output 5V. I think I will feel more comfortable using it on that than my laptop. Anybody have any cons I should be aware of? Also it came with a great little carry bag that will hold the passthru and some carts as well!
Here's what I'm talking about....

1 Amp is bare minimum, and will not even activate some attys. The ones that do activate, will barely work.

1.5 Amp is a more realistic minimum, and 2 Amp is better.

1000 mA is the same as 1 Amp. I have the sneaking suspicion that your power pack will put out 500 mA, or 0.5 Amps, and will not work. Let us know.

Well you are so right quasimod! After it was all charged up I thought I'd give it a go. Well it didn't work at first, then it started working a little bit, but the vapes were so weak. What a bummer, that would have been really awesome if it did work!

To be honest, I don't use mine much any more, because I use big-battery mods (there is less need for one). They are very handy to have if you're using a stock kit, or if you're interested in trying out high(er)-voltage vaping.

If you decide to get one, you need to make sure you get the right accessories for the type that you want to buy. There are two different types:

One has an "inline battery", you can identify it by the black battery box that is spliced into the power cord. This type is powered by that inline battery, and that battery is recharged by the USB plug on your computer or any 0.5 Amp adapter (wall or vehicle). I haven't had much luck with that type.

The other type is a "direct" passthrough. It has no battery, so it needs a power source that delivers enough Amps. Most power adapters are made to recharge batteries, and can't deliver the Amps. You have to make sure to get the right adapter. This type has worked best for me.

My PT has saved the day more than once, and for more than one reason.
