Hey All,

So i would like to get myself a silica rebuildable with glass tank. Just a heads up, i hate genies and SS wicks, which is why i prefer silica. I had a penny a while back but it came from the classies and i could not get rid of the nasty strong coffee flavor in it, no matter what i did.

So i am looking for a nice RBA with glass tank. I mainly vape pluid and other juices that are know to not show love to any plastics. I currently have and like the pro tank but i would like something a bit more pricey and larger.

any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

thank you in advance.

If you still have the penny, have you washed it out and either bought a new ceramic or used a torch on the ceramic.

I have used coffee flavors in my ody and never had an issue with cross over after just rinsing them out.

new ceramic, washed, boiled, dish washer, prayed to jebus.....nothing worked. Sold it and moved on.

I was thinking of going AGA-T and doing a silica wick. thoughts?

I am not giving up on you yet - Cobra!!! You can order the 5ml GLASS tank. Use XC 116 (same setups you would use with Silica).
The AGA T2 is a decent, lower budget device (I thought that you were looking something a bit more pricy) and I have used silica with it with OK results. The AGA T2 does give you options on how to build your setup, but I have always found the AGA T2 to work better with SS mesh, ceramic & SS Rope.

Wow, that must of been some amazingly strong juice.

I bought a cobra and used ss mesh when I first started vaping, and then got into the gg/silica attys and the cobra has just been sitting.

Not sure but you could look for a new/used ody/peny/ithaka. I have all three and all of them work great.

There is a thread for the kayfun, and they seem to really enjoy it. Haven't ventured out since I found what works for me. I also saw a silica/hybrid, I believe called the Mister or something, though this is personal preference but I like variable voltage.

EDIT: Cobra does work great, but there are other options that would be leak free. Gennie set ups don't seem to be able as pocket friendly.

The cobra is so damn long. Liked it when it first came out especially after I could get it from phiniac (best CT IMO)

The aga t2 looks good and I do prefer a tighter draw like my CTs.

That xc 116 looks interesting. What would be the best gauge wire for it. Would like it to be around 1.8-2.0 ohms. 4/5 wraps I'm guessing. And go with the U setup? T setup?

I find the Cobra to be a tighter draw than the AGA T2 (which I prefer myself). The Cobra also gives you a lot of options for setups (more holes). I have tried the majority of different setups. I like a U wick using the XC116 (also like it with SS mesh) and usually wrap 32 or 30 kanthal. I would also recommend some ribbon kanthal 0.5 x 0.1mm work great to. 4/5 wraps of a thinner gauge kanthal seems to work very well with the XC 116. I like using it because it eliminates hotspots.
Agree the 5ml Cobra is long, but the 3ml (which i have) holds enough juice in it for most of my day.

i do prefer a tighter draw. the protank is very light IMO, not like a Zen or any other genny that i have tried, but light for sure.

I would like to test the xc116 out, but i think if i buy the age t2 or the cobra, i will start with silica. What mm would be best in either device?

i will most likely go with 32g Kanthal with around 4-5 wraps. 1.5-2.5 is my sweet spot. anything lower is just meh and anything higher makes my batteries cry.

AGAs are great little gennies for the money. They do seem to be a bit fussier on setup than other gennies I've used, but the fact that you can get one for $30 helps.

I've been thinking pretty damn hard about a cobra to set on my stalker, but haven't pulled the trigger yet so can't comment.

You may also check out the AGI - if you end up hating the genesis, at least it can be converted to a dripper. To use it properly genesis style, you'll need to replace the center post spring though - it add's about a half ohm of resistance. There are a few threads around on that particular topic, but feel free to PM me if you have questions.

2mm silica works ok with the AGA T2 (Cobra also and both have a smaller wick hole compared to newer RBA designs). You always have the option to drill the AGA T2 wick hole (Cobra is made from titanium - hard drilling and not much room to expand the wick hole), if you would like bigger.
Just remember:- using silica is these types of RBA's will make you a tilter (if your not one already).
