So I bought a Poldiac clone from my local B&M a week ago. I could never get it to fire. The spring on the bottom is messed up. Tried to return it and no give. Never had problems with this store and have spent over a grand there. Almost wanted to throw the mod at the guy there. I would actually consider him a friend. Anyways, I wont be spending money there anymore after today and will not send people their way. End rant.

So, is there a quick fix for this? Like taking a spring out of something and putting it in the bottom. Im really frustrated. Some people only have one mod (luckily I have a bunch) and would be out of luck if this happened. As you can see Im really fuming about the lack of customer service here. Regardless, I still want to fix it. (The mod that is) Anyone have a solution? Help! And Thanks ahead of time!

Should have been more clear in my description, but I am flabbergasted at the store. The guy who sold it to me said we had it all set up last week and was working. We TRIED to set it up and the employee said just fiddle with it a bit and it should be good. After a week of fiddling It still doesnt work. Very frustrated with my 80 dollar purchase from a shop I thought was good. Should have made sure it was good to go before leaving last week. My fault. The guy that sold it to me said my batteries or a short in my Kayfun had melted the spring to get it that way. lol. Not joking. Im going to email the owner and tell him my issue.

Trying not to rant to much on my purchase. Any help is much appreciated. I need a spring to go in the bottom.

Go over to Fasttech.com, enter Polidac Mod into the search tab ... click on the listing, and then tab down to the "discussions" section, you will find at least two thread discussions regarding a fixes for the fire button issues.

Still can't find a discussion on the spring on the bottom. There was a bunch of posts about fixing the spring on the fire button, but none about replacing the spring on the bottom. Thank you for your help Nikkita! Still trying to solve this issue.

Damn, sorry to hear that. I love the Poldiac, its a gorgeous Mod, I can only imagine how frustrated you feel right now. Can you replace the spring, maybe taking it to a Home Depot, or hardware store?? Or maybe even checking online vendors like Illumination supply, they are a flashlight vendor and may have replacement springs that will fit being that the "mechanics" of flashlights and battery tube operate in a similar manner.

The only way a spring melts is if the device is shorting out - If you have a multimeter - Set it to continuity - Put the mod together without a battery in - put one probe on the outer of the connection and one on the center pin - If it reads anything at all then the connection seal is broken or perished ....

Hope that helps a bit.
